Perry had some nice blocks to spring Darboh on a few WR screens. Go figure that a true freshman WR and a transfer QB that have only been on the same team for a few weeks had miscommunication all night.

Sounds like Blue Jays are closing on Price... but I'm not sold on Daniel Norris (probable return) as a pitching prospect. Or maybe the Jays lose their minds and offer up Marcus Stroman.
Realistically, give me McCullers or Valesquez from Houston instead.

If Dombrowski is talking to the Dodgers, and at some point they offer up Yasiel Puig or Julio Urias in exchange for Price, you jump on it, correct?

Where does Joba rank among Detroit relievers at their most hittable? Is he worse than Valverde in 2013? Todd Jones in 08? Jason Grilli in 2007?

Anyone else hear the rumor that has the Pistons moving Monroe (sign-and-trade), Jennings, and #8 to the Knicks for Tim Hardaway Jr. and the #4 pick?
Would you do it?

UM were leading (if not leading, in the top 2) for Langford until Battle committed, which screwed them over with Langford. Now that Battle has/will decommit, this is incredibly disappointing.

Calvin Johnson had two games to "prove himself" before his injury, via mLiveAnd normally, I'd agree with you that you can't take a player and move him to another team and expect the same production. However, in this case, ODB was the Giants' entire offense. Remember how pitiful the Giants' offense was in that Week 1 MNF game in Detroit? Their best player was Rashad Jennings. They were worse than awful. Every part of Detroit's offense was better than the Giants' last season. When a player comes in and single-handedly changes the league-worst offense into a Top 15 offense, I feel comfortable saying he would have thrived in almost any scenario (outside of an Arizona-type situation where they are down to QB #4 on the depth chart). ODB might not have the same level of production here, but he'd be just as good of a player.

Let's face it ODB would have got the raw deal here after sitting the first four games and would never have got his shot to be a star like New York gave him. Guys get shit on here. Broyles is no ODB but he was hurt and they moved on without him. If you aren't a star day 1 before you get hurt most likely the Lions have already looked past you. If you are that star day 1 then you can write your own ticket out of town. They hold onto guys when they were stars who are done and give shots and deals to scrubs. Calvin Johnson was hurt for about half his rookie season. I don't think the Lions discarded him or would have discarded ODB had they drafted him. I didn't mind the Ebron pick at the time (I didn't think he would be THIS bad), but I would have preferred Aaron Donald or ODB (not just 20/20 hindsight... I have tweets to back it up), while the players I didn't want were Anthony Barr (whoops) and Taylor Lewan.

I thinking we're veering far too close to 49ers fan territory of "Jim Harbaugh can leave any time now." There's no doubt Babcock is a very good coach and he hasn't been given much help by Kenny since Hossa in '09... I'm not saying I'd want him for anything close to 5M per year, but let's not pretend he's Dave Lewis and that the Wings will be better without him. If the Wings improve next year, it will be because of the talent of the young kids is coming up, not because Babcock isn't behind the bench.

Lions sign Lance Moore. If he still has anything left in the tank, I like it.

Roger Goodell must be a Hydra agent hired by Adam Silver to infiltrate the NFL and destroy it from within. It's the only logical explanation.

Collins came out and said he wouldn't sign past the 3rd round and he would re-enter next year.

I'll defend the Abdullah pick. We'll start with the bad.
FUMBLES -- The most concerning part of his game. However, he has gotten much better over the course of his career. 3 fumbles in 264 attempts isn't that bad. Provided that he truly has improved in this area, it shouldn't be a huge problem, especially if he is splitting carried with Joique.
THE 4.6 40 -- Not worried about it at all. He may not have the highest top gear that Tevin Coleman has, but he has a BURST. He was near the top of every category for the 3-cone drill or the shuttles. Great acceleration is far more important to a RB than great speed.
UNDERSIZED -- He might be small, but he's built to handle an NFL beating. Honestly, I have serious doubts of both Duke Johnson and Tevin Coleman's ability to stay healthy on a week in-week out basis. While both Coleman and Johnson are bigger than Abdullah, I feel like Abdullah's lower center of gravity (everyone tackles low these days) and thicker frame give him an edge in durability and not going down at first contact.
PASS PROTECTION -- I haven't seen much of him in pass protection, but if he's as intelligent as the Lions are making him out to be, he can probably pick up that part of his game up relatively quickly. It's also possible that Nebraska's trashy QBs didn't always put the team in the proper protection. Bo Pelini offense FTW.

Thrilled with the trade and Tomlinson. The Lions had 0 LGs on the roster coming into the draft. You pick up two in the first round and additional picks? Fantastic. I didn't like Malcolm Brown very much at all... I think you can pick up a DT of equal quality in rounds 2 or 3. Now the Lions have two roadgraders on the line and any RB they get should benefit from that along with Stafford.

This team needs to be shaken up, but I don't think Holland has in in him at this stage to do anything like that. Pav and Z are at the end of their elite careers (Zetterberg is done, Pavel is so good with the puck he can survive losing another step so he probably has another year or two). A younger Holland wasn't afraid to move on from mainstays like Fedorov, Lapointe, or Primeau... Can you see Holland moving Kronwall (who sucked balls this year), Ericsson (who also sucked balls), Nyquist, or Helm? I can't. Hell, it will be a small victory if he lets Joakim Andersson walk.
If the Wings want to actually compete next season, they need 2 top D-men (Kronwall can't shoot anymore and being a small and slow d-man is a bad combination), a first rate goal scorer to put next to Pavel (Abs was a revelation this year, but he's not a sniper... Pulkinnen?), and to trim some of the dead weight off the roster. That includes:
-Weiss -Franzen -Cleary (obviously) -Andersson -Lashoff (better kids in Grand Rapids) -Zidlicky -Cole
Then you have the young guys who have potential but aren't quite there yet:
- Tatar (closest to figuring it out, but still makes boneheaded mistakes) - Sheahan (Stud, IMO) - Nyquist (completely disappeared the second half of the season, sucked in the playoffs... Maybe Jiri Hudler 2.0?) - Dekeyser (I know Wings fans like him, but he was dreadful in that Tampa series... May not be a top 4 defenseman after all) - Smith (Played well in the playoffs, but always in Babs' doghouse. Would like to see a new coach work with him) - Kindl (Might be Kyle Quincey 2.0... Could see him going to a bad team, play top 4 defense minutes, and suddenly getting decent/good) - Jurco (I liked his playoffs a lot... He skated hard, created turnovers, drew penalties... Offense was bad this year, but it feels like he could have a Glendenning type awakening next season.) - Pulkky (needs NHL time and the weight room)
Lastly you have the "maybe we need to look at moving on from them" players: -Miller (Sorry, but he doesn't bring anything to the table that Ferraro/someone else can't do, who is also younger/faster/cheaper) -Helm (No longer the fastest guy on the ice, has always had bad hands... How many good years does he have left?) -Ericsson (Brutal this season. Seems to have taken a step back... When's the point of no return?) -Quincey (The Wings best and most consistent defender this season... Stock is high. But can he repeat it? Will fans ever get over their beef?) -Howard (who knows)
TL;DR Roster needs a big overhaul and new blood, don't think we'll see many changes other than new coach and some vet signings.

I actually think we have a better chance with Kindl and Marchenko than we do with Kronwall and Zidlicky. Wings fans don't realize just how awful those two have been this series.

I really, really want Ameer Abdullah to be a Lion. David Cobb out of Minny would be my backup pick later in the draft. I am not comfortable with them taking him anywhere higher than round 3. He fumbles a lot although he cut that down a little (4) last year. That's really the only knock on him though... He does have small hands and some that believe that's why he has had fumble issues. But realistically, he would be in the Reggie Bush role for the Lions and he'd have 10-12 carries a game and primarily be used in the passing game, which should help him not fumble as much. I think he's every bit as explosive as Tevin Coleman, but unlike Coleman he's actually physically built to withstand a NFL beating week in and week out. He catches the ball well out of the backfield, he's tough to bring down, and he isn't afraid of contact or grinding out extra yards.

I would rather they take the money they were going to give to Suh and use it to extend Levy, Ansah, and Slay in the years to come. Taking the money and blowing all of it on FAs with long-term deals and putting yourself right back in cap hell is a very Lions thing to do.
Though, Knighton at 1 year 4 mil seems like a deal the Lions would have been interested in.

Sounds like Jake Rudock might be transferring from Iowa. This staff must be under the impression that quarterback is an important position. Strange. The fact that Harbaugh is trying Iowa QBs and baseball infielders out at QB speaks volumes about what he thinks about Hoke's QBs.
