I'm talking about when it's not a real title. That's a little strange to do that. When does a person decide their "senior." Might as well put "obsolete" on their, because that's how it reads.

Can't you two just text either and quit jamming up these threads? I would have gone with "get a chat room", but What. Ever.

I like when people put "senior" in front of their actual title because they have either been in the same position for 20 years and/or just don't like their real title. Our company has a "Senior" designation for my position. Different tier level, and a different pay scale. If I were to leave the company, others in my unit would have to apply for the Senior designation.

I just hide all my friends. My feed is empty. I have eliminated the concept of friendship from my life. Makes things so much easier. Try it. You can thank me later.

First the Kindergarten grad posts, next a graduating class with 15 valedictorians. I've never understood Kindergarten graduation. Early introduction to social promotion.

So, I may be going to myrtle beach...Wife wants to go, I really dont (based on my insane bias on the gulf of mexico which I love)...Any thoughts on where to stay, what to do, not go and not do? Was thinking of trying to rent a condo or cottage on or near beach as they seem cheaper than the hotels....Thoughts? www.vrbo.com/279610
We did this place 3 years in a row which is listed through VRBO, although had an in with the owner that allowed us to bypass VRBO, plus he's pretty flexible with us. Not fancy but great location! Surfside Beach just south of MB. Not so hectic as in the middle of MB. You can get south towards Murrells Inlet which is pretty cool or use the highway bypass to scoot around downtown MB & get to North Myrtle Beach area where plenty of action resides.
But the best part is just hanging on the beach. Cheap Beach bar within walking distance.
We always do Murrells Inlet. It has a boardwalk (called Marshwalk) with a number of Restaurants & Bars on it. Good selection from more upscale to burgers & beers. Always has music going on, day or night. You can cart your open beers up & down the boardwalk too.
I was going to post the same thing about Murrells Inlet. I went to a wedding there and liked it a lot. Nice beach and boardwalk area. I really wouldn't want to stay in the hotels in MB. Too many kids and trailer trash. We pretty much just go to the broadway at the beach area of MB which is inland a bit. Murrell's Inlet is nice, too. It's just north of Pawleys Island on Highway17. You are far enough way from MB to be out of the circus, but close enough to take advantage of things you might want to do there.

Was thinking of trying to rent a condo or cottage on or near beach as they seem cheaper than the hotels....Thoughts? We always rent through VRBO whereever we go. Have always had a good experience. Not a fan of Myrtle Beach, personally. It has become the "Red Neck Riviera" or K-Mart by the Sea." If you like a carnival atmosphere, you will enjoy it. If you want a more low key vacation, you will not. It's all bars (think spring break), t-shirt shops, and now a boardwalk with rides, like a permanent carnival. For a more relaxed environment, you might want to look at Pawley's Island, which is south of M.B. If you want to do something more cultural and historical, Charleston is the way to go. You can find a place at the Beach, either on Sullivan's Island, John's Island or Isle of Palms. Edisto is further south, and kind of remote, but nice. If you want to go furthe south, Harbor Island/Fripp Island have lots ot offer. But they are "remote." You are about 20 minutes outside of Beaufort, S.C. which sits between Savannah and Charlston. Savannah is also nice, and Tybee Island is another barrier island that lots of people really like.

I wonder if they left money on the table by selling the rights too soon btw... I'm also curious what the trainers actual cut is in these horses. He's front and center with all the events, but the horse was actually owned by some Arabs... And if he didn't win the Triple Crown, the numbers would have likely gone down. Just FYI on the fees: So it was more than $20 mil. Not sure what Bob Baffert's $$ take on this was. I'm sure he was well taken care of. One website suggests he makes $6 mil per year in a "normal" year. Details are sketchy.

Wire to wire. That horse is going to earn some serious money. Anyone know why the saddle pad had what looked like the Michigan State flag/logo on it? I never heard them discuss it, and could not find anything online. They'll put him out to stud eventually and make that much more. It's been almost 40 years so everyone is going to want those genes. The stud rights have already been sold. They were sold before The Belmont was even run. They signed an endorsement deal with Monster. Seems about right. Tastes like horse piss. Weaties is probably next. But there is probably going to be a "no gelding" clause in the deal.

I'm not going anywhere for a day or so. There are people still stuck at the arena from the playoff game last night. You're not by Houston are you? About 2 hours east of Houston. We missed the bad stuff. Austin is flooded, and Houston got hammered. I was supposed to have a hearing today in Austin. Cancelled due to the other attorney gettng flooded out of his house over the weekend. His office was also flooded (he lives a few blocks from his office in Wimberley-the town they are showing on the national news). This is downtown Austin yesterday. Stevie Ray walking on water. The base of the statute is about 2 feet above ground level. The general area is 10 feet or so above the normal river level.

Whooooo, doggies. The road in front of my house is only passable by boat. County Roads closed our road off in in both directions because of low water crossings 4-6 feet deep. We haven't even had the worst of it. The bad stuff has gone north of us. Sounds like house arrest then. I'm not going anywhere for a day or so.

I'm not getting any pop up ads. I get one at the top under the banner and one at the bottom where the related topics section is.
