No offense, Hillary, but you might want to think about your pantsuit choices a little deeper. The subliminal message is not the best...

What's the potential repercussions on that stuff hoff? I haven't been following it much. Technically, its can be a felony, and results in fines, potential jail time, and the revokation of security clearance. Keep in mind this stuff was found on her e-mail server. This was not storage. That means the material was being communicated to someone. No word yet on the recipient. David Patreus, who was head of CIA was arrested and charged with mishandling classified materials two (?) years ago. The documents he had were not classified "Top Secret." They were sent to someone (his mistress) who ALSO HAD A SECURITY CLEARANCE. It ended his career, and he now has a criminal record. He lost his security clearance. Sandy Berger, one of (Bill) Clinton's top aids was also charged when he removed classified documents from the national archives to prepare for a senate hearing. Again, not "top secret" material, but highly classified. He was also charged and pleaded guilty. He was fined $50K, served two years of probation and community service and his cleaance was revoked for three years. So there is precedence on this. Theortically, she could be looking at jail time. I doubt that would ever happen. IMO, the outcome of this will be determined by what Biden does. If he decides he wants to run for POTUS, they either indict her, or she reaches a plea and drops out of the race in exchange for a favorable deal or a pardon. As we have seen with the IRS, among other agencies, this Administration is not opposed to using its agency powers to target people (see discussion of Petreaus, above. Think it's a coincidence that they dropped that hammer within a few days of him testifying before the Senate panel on Behghazi? They had the info for multiple months and sat on it until they needed to use it. Consider also IRS targeting scandal, Labor Department investigating Romney Donors) If Biden doesn't run, DOJ probably stands down on HRC. They may sacrifice a few of her aides just to tamp this down. It will still have legs in the general election. Who wants a POTUS who can't be trusted to safeguard top secret documents? Her comments about "the server was safe, it was in her home protected by Secret Service" is laughable. Just because someone could not physically access the server doesn't mean it couldn't be hacked.

Water has broke at the hospital! I hope they get that fixed. People are going to want to shower and use the toilets. Darn public utilities.

I thought your point was it doesn't matter. Anyway, the issues could very well be who will do the least amount of damage. Some running will exacerbate/enhance the problems, which is exactly what we don't need. It doesn't matter who is elected because the only person that can possibly be elected won't change anything materially. You're either being a dick for no reason or dense. Someone cannot disagree with you without being a "dick?" Why were the Reagan years different than the Carter years? Why were the Clinton years different than the Bush (43) years? The administration/policies can effect this country's trajectory.

On that we agree. But from a broader perspective, the stage was set by government policies created by elected officials. So it does matter who we vote for and what they do. This crap doesn't just happen in a vacuum. I'm not saying that. Of course govt has influence, I just don't think anyone is changing it. The right person can make corrections that wiill change direction. One person cannot completely change the course. It has taken generations to get us where we are. It will take generations to get our issues corrected. But it has to start, and soon.

Since I've been a tax paying individual, my standard of living has not changed materially in 20 years. Shouldn't it have (dramatically) improved over that length of time? Ever wonder why that is?

My point is it would have happened regardless of who was president... Right or left. On that we agree. Oh, some of the shit matters. Those nice new EPA regs will matter. Everyone will pay for those. A lot. I was exaggerating of course. But in the end, to Hoffs point, it doesn't really matter. The 2008 collapse was caused in large part by government policies inmplemented by elected officials (repeal of Glass-Steagal and government pressure on lenders to make bad loans). We still have not completely recovered from that (highest non-participation in the labor market in 40 years/highest food stamp participation rate ever). Health care costs and insurance costs are increasing due largely to ACA. Energy costs (electricity) are going to rise again because of new EPA regs and executive orders on emissions. Meanwhile, NSA continues to violate the law with dragnet warrants on all of our communications, and the debt and deficit, which are unsustainable, continue to rise. So yeah, none of this matters.

They all are fucking idiots, including trump. There are some smart people there, most just have some bad ideas and/or are beholden to the donor class. The ones that are not owned have no shot. Having Trump, who openly admits he "buys" candidates, represent the "ordinary citizen" is like putting the pimp in charge of the vice squad. I can't believe people are buyng his schtick. But then again, there are a few analysts who suggest that Trump is a trojan horse for the Clinton Campaign. He's doing a lot of damage to the Party. If he gets the nomination, he's not likely to win a general. He's running a campaign of alienating as many groups as possible. Can't decide if African Americans or LGBT are next in the cross-hairs. If he doesn't get the nomination, he runs third party, siphoning off votes, as Perot did to Bush 41 in 1992.

Now that it is election season I wonder if TRRW will find this place. Also, I guarantee that 1 year from now HRC will not be the candidate for the DNC. It's not gonna happen for her. Now that it is election season I wonder if TRRW will find this place.
Also, I guarantee that 1 year from now HRC will not be the candidate for the DNC. It's not gonna happen for her. Dems and GOP party organizations have the same problem. Both parties have a Machine Candidate that they party wants (HRC and JEB). They satisfy the monied interests and frankly, from a policy standpoing the policies are not that far from each other. The rank and file are not on board and are looking in other directions, hence the rise of Trump and Sanders. (Laugh as you will about Sanders, but he's drawing bigger croweds than HRC). HRC has other problems looming, as she may either be under indictment or at a minimum, sanctioned or held in contempt of court in the next 6-9 months. If Biden jumps in the race, the likelihood that she gets charged with misuse of classified information (ala David Patreus) increases significantly. President Obama hates the Clintons. This admin has a track record of using the levers of power to take down those who oppose (see alos IRS). If Biden gets in, HRC is toast.

Being a republican has to suck super balls right now. All of them have to out crazy each other to get the nom and then immediately pretend like they never said any of it in the general. Being in either party sucks balls right now. Dems have a bat shit crazy biden and a sinister, super bitch, ambassador killer and repubs have a long list of clowns. Don't forget Bernie Sanders, the admitted socialist from Vermont (author of a rape fantasy essay).

Fiorina did an excellent job in the happy hour debate. She should have made the big stage. Could you imagine a Rubio/Fiorina ticket or a Fiorina/Rubio ticket? That would be a game changer demographically for the GOP. Head to head versus HRC and Julian Castro on the other side. Fiorina would make an oustanding foil to HRC becaue of the different styles. Yep, it seems obvious but unfortunately the old rich guys with all the money probably don't see it. No doubts about that. The parties are all about preserving the Machine. Jeb and Hillary are the Machine candidates. That is why they are both recieving huge money from the same donor class. Neither will do anything to change the status quo.

I think Rubio stands out as being pretty different than the rest. He gives the Republicans their best chance. Old white guy candidate has no chance no matter what he's spewing. There just aren't enough voters supporting that kind of candidate anymore. Fiorina did an excellent job in the happy hour debate. She should have made the big stage.
