they need him so badly.. have to find a way to sign him Mayhew is sick. You know if Suh wanted to be here and accepted a contract that Mayhew would pay him whatever he wanted. He'd stretch it out however he could over as many years as it took to make it fit under the cap. |

I have no idea how that would even work.. they are projected to have ~20 mil in space. franchising him would cost 26+.. they need probably another 6-7 mil to sign other free agents and another 5 mil or so to sign rookies. they'd have to find a way to clear 17 million in space.. good luck |

Thats the thing, I could see restructuring to make room for 5-6 mil.. but doing it to clear 17 mil seems like a pipe dream.

Hes important to the team but signing him could put them in a bad position and not enable them to improve further. I say let him go and focus on getting better all around.

To the Council: Suh should finish 3rd in DPOY behind JJ Watt and Justin Houston, IMO.
flem: Franchising Suh will in part depend on how much the salary cap increases from this year to next. Early reports are that it could go to 140 or higher. If the cap goes up that much, it would not take a lot to keep him and try to get some sort of deal worked out. In the least, it allows you to get something in return for him via a trade.
Moves I would expect to see to also lower some cap numbers are cutting Bush, restructuring Calvin, and possibly cutting/restructuring Tulloch.
One thing that I will give credit to with Mayhew/Lewand, when they sign free agents the terms are usually very cap friendly and give the team a good deal of leverage to get out after a couple of years.
