I normally lift on a 4 day split based on body parts. Im thinking of changing to a 2 day split based on compound movements. Day 1 Bench Deadlift Squat Over head press Day 2 Curls Tris Rows And do that twice a week for 4 workouts. Im looking to shorten up my workouts i normally put in 1.5 to 2 hrs and i think thats too long. I just need to figure a reps/sets schedule for each one. Also thinking about mixing in ddp yoga on non lifting days. I try not to Squat and Deadlift on the same day. I've found that really puts me down for a couple of days because they are taxing. To each their own though. You'll also find that depending on the order of your compound lifts your lifts after the first two may suffer due to your body being tired. Especially if you start with DL's and Squats. You wanna murder those bishes together if you can. Core day you can DL too in d2o we trust

Anywho, they talk about Shakeology, some sort of protein shake, can anyone suggest an alternative to their brand, preferably on the cost effective side ?? TIA Whats your price range ? in d2o we trust never bought this stuff before, how much does it run ?? ( and maybe this is a good time to mention, I dont want something that will give me the runs, know what I mean ?)

Just go buy yourself some vanilla protein powder and a blender and make it up as you go. I used to mix in some bananas and apples and throw some cinammon in for flavoring. If you don't want to go that far buy some flavored muscle milk powder and buy one of those shaker cups to mix it up. Just get something with a lot of protein (20 grams or more per serving) and low on sugar. Be careful drinking those though, they can have a lot of calories in them. If it's a workout video like P90 not sure why they want you to drink so much protein.
My chest muscles in the front inner/lower part of my chest have been killing me since surgery every time I do something physical. Not sure why, since they went in through my right side along the rib cage. I don't think those muscle fibers wrap that far around the body, maybe they do. First day I went back to work my chest and back were so sore I had to take a muscle relaxer. Doc says that is normal.

I think you are looking at the wrong supplements when comparing a Whey Protein Powder to something like Shakeology. You could use a Whey powder as the base for a drink but would need to add some other ingredients (Fruits, supplements, etc.) to get the exact same Vitamins. What are they trying to charge you for a bag of the Shakeology stuff? Do you just mix it alone with Milk or Water? I'm not familiar with it but it appears to be a meal replacement?

You'd be better off making your own shakes with a Protein powder base and some fruits or vegetables. You could also basically just drink Protein shakes and add in a Multi-Vitamin and eat more greens throughout your day. Depends on your Goals and Macros.

Unless u are trying to build muscle skip the shakes and just eat bettter food I rarely use my Protein Powder anymore. I'd much rather get Protein from food. That being said if you are working out and lifting Protein is important and sometimes it's easier to mix a shake to help hit that goal. Especially if you are watching your Carbs and Fat intake as well since shakes (The good ones) tend to me low carb and low fat (minus milk).

not lifting weights at all, at home cardio workout. trying to follow their "plan" as close as possible to get the best results. it's a 10 week program and I would like to get the best results.
1600 cals per day on their plan, would the shakes help balance the cal intake ?

At 1600 Cals I would try and hit that with real food and not shakes at least not daily. It all boils down to you though. If you think Shakes will help it's all you.

If your goal is to lose weight and not gain muscle, do it without the shakes. Get a phone app and track your food each day, aim to keep the calorie intake at a certain level. And keep your carbs and sugars low, the protein high, and (good) fats medium. Also, before you start the diet, track your current intake for a couple days so you know where you are at. If you make a big drop in calories quickly your body may not respond to it with weight loss. You should aim for 500 cals less per day, over 7 days that will give you one lb of weight loss (3500 cal is about 1 lb).
The only time I drink a protein thingy is after a workout where I've lifted and usually then I just drink a muscle milk, have some lunch meat, something with protein. Sometimes I drink a muscle milk for lunch when I don't want to eat a meal. I agree I'd rather do it with regular food.

That's solid work. Which do you have? We are leaning towards the NordicTrac Elite 9700. The iFit tech on it is pretty sweet Did you end up getting this? Looks like I am getting a treadmill this year. My shitty one can't handle 100 miles/month. I've read some bad things about the company that makes Nordictrac, Icon. It's the same company that makes low end proform treadmills. I guess they aren't well built anymore and it's impossible to get warranty work done. Also you have to pay $100/year for iFit. I'm looking at the True M50 and PS100. Also maybe the Precor 211 or 223. I definitely want a non folding model so it's more sturdy.

Company went into bankruptcy and re-organized, then went into bankruptcy again and were bought. Customer service has been all garbage since then, and the quality of the products has dropped significantly. When the clucth on the ski mechanism went out the last time, they basically said "sorry, can't help you." They have gone from high quality boutique brand to mass market junk.

Ran 6 miles outside today on mostly snow covered paths. It sucked balls so I went out and bought my new treadmill.
