Henning has said that in 2016 the Tigers are all in. If that is the case and they open up the Illitch bank, why in the world would they keep Ausmus. He has not proven he can handle being a manager at the major league level. If they were willing to blow this thing up and sell anyone with market value, then I could see him staying on. The Tigers are taking a very big risk with keeping Ausmus and letting a first year GM make huge calls on free agents. The Tigers are at a crossroads with this particular team. Their stars are all over 30 and make a lot money, this is not the recipe for success. So, we kind of addressed all these things separately, though not from that particular angle (which is a good one, BTW). I will say this...a lot of people seem to like to bag on Henning, but he came on and talked to us for like 45 minutes last night, and I think he was pretty spectacular. I'd never talked to him before, and he did us a pretty big favor. You can listen here badhopradio.podomatic.com/entry/2015-10-14T21_12_28-07_00

I am glad CB Henning was a good guest for you. Hopefully he will do you another favor & come back during the hot-stove league. I will listen to that last show this weekend. Even though I am one of those that dislike many of Lynn Henning articles and disagreed with him on his opinions.

Not sure if Dubee or anyone else could help this staff, as it stands today. Tigers have a lot of questions they have to answer for this off-season.

Dubee takes over after Jeff Jones' retirement. Dubee was the minor league pitching coordinator for the Atlanta Braves for the past two seasons. Before that, he was the pitching coach for the Philadelphia Phillies for nine seasons.
He was with the Phillies when they won the World Series in 2008, and when their rotation included aces Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee.
The Tigers are trying to bounce back from a last-place finish this year, when their once-vaunted starting rotation slipped significantly.

I think we will be ok if we sign a starter and fix the bully. Bully obviously being the major issue.

The Joe Nathan era is over in Detroit. At least we have the memories.

The Joe Nathan era is over in Detroit. At least we have the memories. You can't deny his leadership abilities. It was no surprise that he clashed with the fans , but to see his viewpoint shared by guys like Victor was disappointing. Good-bye, you cancerous has-been.

Thanks Juicy, wasn't sure on that site. I saw it on Yahoo"s front page and clicked on it. We are in agreement 22, pretty much all speculation at this point.

Was busy writing a very long post looking at potential landing spots for Kinsler, Iglesias, and J.D. Martinez, so of course the Tigers trade for K-Rod. Somewhere (p)Rick From Fowler(ville) is smiling.
Rodriguez is of course an established closer who has never had a season in which he struck out fewer than a batter an inning. He's not light's out like he used to be, but he figures to post an ERA in the 2.5-3.5 range and give the team a steady presence at the back of the bullpen.
The Tigers gave up 20-year-old second baseman Javier Betancourt, and a PTBNL. Betancourt is a solid prospect, but one who gets by on skills more than tools. He can put the bat on the ball pretty well, but he doesn't have much pop, and he figures to be a solid defender at second. I had him as one of the most improved prospects in the system last season, but it was a pretty relative thing, because the system sucks and he basically hit .260 in high-A. The PTBNL could be a 2015 draft pick, or the Tigers may have made a handful of players available and the Brewers want to evaluate further.

I feel like we just got another post his prime reliever Fisty is coming next. Royals are getting nervous. I hope so! mlb.nbcsports.com/2015/11/18/tigers-considering-reunion-with-doug-fister/ESPN’s Buster Olney reports that the Tigers have expressed interest in signing Fister this offseason to help bolster a pitching staff that ranked 28th in the majors in ERA this past season. The right-hander missed time in 2015 to an elbow injury and he finished the year in the Nationals’ bullpen, but he’s a decent bounceback candidate and could come relatively cheap in a loaded starting pitching market.

The Tigers need a front-of-the-rotation type, and a back-end guy. Fister could easily fit the bill as that back-end guy, and if he can somehow bounce back to his 2013-14 form, he could end up being the #3 starter they need. Would be a very nice buy low option. Also, we talked more about the K-Rod deal on the radio show last night, if you want to listen. badhopradio.podomatic.com/entry/2015-11-18T21_06_37-08_00

Tigers bring Cameron Maybin back in exchange for Ian Krol and a prospect. I assume he's taking Rajai's spot in the Gose platoon?
