Why, Michigan has had less than average attrition the last few years, they dont have a lot of room for people..........and I would rather take 28 next year than 18 this year with a bunch of low star flips.. Sarcasm. I do think we'll probably lose a few after spring practice once they get a sense of who will and won't be featured in the new regime. Sorry People are making too big a deal about who does and does not sign.......it matter but dang people cannot help themselves over what Hardballs did in a 30 days since he got here.

I think people expected players to sign based on his name alone. In reality, the staff had one day to meet then they went off recruiting. I'm sure they sounded disorganized in front of the players and parents. I expect a top ten class next year. Maybe top 5 if they play above expectations next year.

It's really hard to put together a great class in this sort of time frame, especially if you're mostly dealing with NFL coaches who haven't had any relationships with high-school kids. I think they will be all over the 2016 class.

I am not sure what people expected Harbaugh to do with such a small class he walked into and very limited time. That said, he has flipped 5 recruits so far (!) and is setting Michigan up for a monster 2016 class. Can't ask for much more than that.

Chris I agree, 2016 should be a good year once these coaches develop relationships with these kids. 2016 will also be very important for the Harbaugh regime. Even though UofM didn't have a great recruiting year I believe Harbaugh has done a very good job with the time he has. Also I find these recruiting "experts" miss the mark on most of these kids. Yes the more 5 & 4 star kids you recruit the better off your program will be, but the coach still has to elevate these high school kids into top college players.

listening to Harbaugh's presser. lots of subtle digs at webber. which i love.
Harbaugh: "we value players who want to compete in the classroom and on the field." said it about 2 times now.

Webb thinks Michigan gets both Wheatley and Shelton Johnson. That'd be a nice way to end the class.

Shelton Johnson commits to UM. Their 2nd DE in the class, so if Wheatley comes he's probably a TE.

Wheatley just committed to U of M!! Well, all in all, I'd say this is a pretty solid class, for the number of scholarships they had available.

Van Jefferson to Ole Miss, so Michigan's class is done at 14. Not bad.

Well, Wheatley Sr gets to keep his job. Wheatly Jr gets to remain in the family. Win/win.
Sounds like a good class to me, considering Hardballs had a month to put it together.
Any thoughts on possible transfers that Hardballs would take?

On whether there was a difference in how many already-committed prospects Harbaugh pursued compared to his time at Stanford:
“No, I mean, there was recommendations, there was…we watched tape and we’d call people and see if they were interested and we’re trying to build a recruiting base and that’s kind of the way the pickle squirted this year. I don’t see that happening going forward.”

WTF does that even mean? And is it better than saying "Well, after Hoke fucked this class up and had people not considering/decommitting from Michigan, I had to flip guys back this way."

So, Roquan Smith is apparently still out there, having not sent his LOI to UCLA, but I still doubt he ends up at UM. So I think the class is finished, and here's how it ranks: UM Recruiting

I really think the coaches did a nice job with this class. Huge to hold onto Cole, Malzone, Kinnel, and Newsome, and I really like all of the new additions, particularly Johnson and Washington.

Stop pretending this class wasn't a complete disappointment. Michigan State is a national powerhouse and is now recruiting all 3 and 4 stars.

John OKorn, QB from Houston, transfers to UM. Will need to sit out a year.
