So our rotation is way worse, no bullpen help and cespy? Cool offseason bro. I think the rotation is slightly worse and the lineup is slightly better. Bench still blows and bullpen still blows

I dont. I think Greene will have comparable output to Porcello.

Im thrilled they didnt do that deal at that price. I also think its stupid you can make a deal that pays guys for 7 years after the contract is over

well, i guess i wasnt really counting price as a major contributor last year since he came on late. so i'm counting Price as replacing Max. And Simon is an upgrade to our revolving 2015 5th starter
Price JV Sanchez Greene Simon
slightly worse than
Max JV Sanchez Porcello whoever started in this spot all year.. smyly and everyone else

If the bullpen is not better, than it doesn't matter if their starting line-up is worse.

agreed. which is why i said, starters slightly worse, lineup slightly better, bench and bullpen still awful

This team is not better overall, worse overall. Cabrera and Julio are still huge question marks and may not be ready by opening day. Doesn't look too good overall. Dombrowski needs to make some miracles happen before spring training.

In his 7 major league seasons as a starting pitcher Max has only 1 complete game and 1 shutout in 198 games started, 1,239 1/3 innings. This is an awful lot of money fore somebody who averaged just 6 1/3 innings per start.

better have a lockdown BP.. but yeah, 30 mil is ridiculous for a pitcher north of 30 with that track record.

its the same amount of money no matter how you cut it.. say youre paying him 30 for 7 or 15 for 14.. i dont care. its still insane. youre going to pay a guy 15 mil per for 7 years when he's probably not even on your team anymore. dude will be 40-41-42-43-44-45 sitting on the couch collecting 15 mil per.

It's a redonk contract but it's not the same. All that money back loaded isn't worth the same in today's $$.
