Huge difference being 0-4 compared to 1-3. Lions could have turned their season around with a win in that stadium last night. I almost feel that if the NFL admits this mistake, they owe the Lions a draft pick or some type of concession.
This also has a huge impact on the NFC West.....Seattle could have been 1-3 instead of 2-2. Arizona and St. Louis are affected by this too. LMFAO yup that's it......
Or just maybe CJ secure the ball and we probably wouldnt be having this discussion....

and didn't we have a pretty good offensive line 3 years ago? It's getting worse and worse under this coaching staff. Stop it youre grasping for straws. The Lions offensive line has been bad for the last 10 seasons. The only difference is that Stafford got the ball out of his hands faster under the old OC. Not to mention the running game has been piss poor for a while now.

Or winning the big ten title in 2003, 2004 and being #2 in the country through 11 games in 2006. Look, theyve been really bad for 8-9 years minus the fluke in the Sugar bowl, but youre the drew sharpe of this message board. saying things for effect that dont actually spell out the scenario.. your heavy emphasis on winning bowl games is also confusing. What should my emphasis be on? They should compete very well in the BigTen because the conference is dog shit and has been for the last many moons. Im not putting stock in any conference records unless it's the SEC and even then Georgia looks good on paper.....

It doesnt matter. CJ has to make that play. He was the highest paid player on that field last night. The defense played their asses off and the Lions offense blew it as usual

Michigan is the definition of mediocrity and have been for the last 15 seasons. the dumb is strong with this one. Yup, because the Orange in 2000 and the Sugar in 2012 says different.....
or being 5-8 in the last 15 seasons says a lot about the block M in bowl games.....

Que? I presented an argument- you replied with arbitrary personal opinions. I think you are the only one who thinks preseason rankings are actually intended to hold a legitimate value. Obviously, anything derived from speculation is only a prediction. It is not a true measurement or evaluation of actual performance. Preseason rankings are only intended to create hype (as I said) and a baseline of expectations based on how a team looks on paper. That's it. I'm not sure why you are giving them anymore value. I preseason rank everything around me. Based on previous posting performances, Unfortunately, your next post is unlikely to be ranked. They impact the rankings later, that's my point. They have an impact on the rankings of teams right now. That's not a personal opinion. Wow, what dont he understand? I agree with your point and how silly pre-season ranking are....

So Michigan's only loss is to the #5 team in the country, on the road. Remember when this was a badge of honor for MSU last year, losing to top5 Oregon on the road? Except Oregon was in the talks for National Championship all season long....
I can't say the same for Utah. While the Utes will finish in the top 25 I dont see them in NC discussions

It wouldn't change my excitement level entering a college football season. I'll look forward to your response in 15 minutes. Without pre-season rankings the teams would be ranked after week 4 on merit and not beating cupcakes….

This is why I call bullshit when I hear shit like that. My fear is that they will beat any tomato can in the BigTen but be exposed by the better two or three teams the BigTen has to offer….. It will be better than losing to the tomato can teams while being happy they didn't get blown out by those two or three teams. This isn't 1998 where they're coming off a natty. They've been at it or damn near laughing stock status. That's what you're coming off of. Mediocrity IS an (huge) improvement over what they've fielded the last several years. Michigan is the definition of mediocrity and have been for the last 15 seasons.

What's wrong with having a preseason poll based on expectations alone? Because pre-season polls put teams like MSU at #5 which is such bullshit.

I was listening to Caputo today and had to change the channel. All this shit talking about gap being closed etc. beat one of the fucking teams you think you've closed the gap on before even talking like that. All this transitive win bull shit. This is why I call bullshit when I hear shit like that. My fear is that they will beat any tomato can in the BigTen but be exposed by the better two or three teams the BigTen has to offer…..

Brutally awful home schedule probably plays a huge factor too The Spartans are #2 there is no excuse for the fans not attending any game during BigTen play……

Who cares, I still call it hanging on. It was a good game. EMU was within one score, to start the 4th quarter. Exactly. They ran it 49 times because their passing game sucks and Eastern's run defense is the worst in the country. A 22 point win over Eastern is impressive but a 28 point shutout in against Maryland is not. I never call either impressive. Maryland is hot garbage and EMU is a Mac school so their pretty much isn't a difference.

You do realize LSU ran the ball 49 times? If LSU was a team that run a spread type system then you would have a point, but they don't and that was the only reason EMU was in the game at the half. Second half adjustments and you saw different results…… Who cares, I still call it hanging on. It was a good game. EMU was within one score, to start the 4th quarter. Hanging on is MSU/Purdue. LSU dominated EMU in the 4th qtr.

It was LSU 20, EMU 14 at the half., when I posted that. EMU is horrible. You do realize LSU ran the ball 49 times? Who's good in college football? If OSU and MSU are #1 and #2, then this is the worst college football season of all time! LSU hanging on against ... Eastern Michigan, and UCLA down 12 at home to ASU. MSU shouldn't be #2 in the country and they won't after the new rankings. OSU will get the FSU treatment right up until they land the Final Four bid if they win out. The SEC/PAC 12 are the two best conferences in college football. You call LSU winning by 22 hanging on?

Northwestern has the best win by far in the BIG and the best resume. I agree and to take it further they may make the voters take a hard look at them in the Final Four even if they lose in BigTen championship game. The win over Stanford will still be huge if Stanford plays for the Pac12 Championship. The road for them isn't as hard if they win Saturday.

Well with that forecast, whoever has the best defense will win the game. Thank you Hoff, your new career at TWC should be a major success. Best running team wins. With that storm offshore, it's shaping up to be sloppy with bands of rain and wind. Passing and special teams are going to be challenges for both teams. Heavier weather is going to stay south toward southern Virginia and the Carolinas (assuming the forecasts are correct). Man if they have to depend on the offensive line it may be a long day. Ruddock may have to toss a few TD's to win.
