Things are either going to work out or they’ll be the Browns for twenty years. So tell me something. Stafford will look great against weaker teams, but is that what the Lions really need right now? Draft wise I was glad the Bucs lost again, but Winston is looking for a job, so he will go out there a nd look like a very reasonable QB.... Are you asking about tanking or sitting him? I don’t think that’s going to happen. I can’t see him looking any better than he looked last week with 101 yards. Everybody is hurt. Everybody would like a top 5 pick but nobody is going to tank to get it. They’ll play to win and then sort the rest out later.

Reggie McKenzie just got fired too. Gruden is taking them apart one piece at a time. Reggie McKenzie with his hands tied still assembled a good roster, and now that the guaranteed contract was handed to Gruden put McKenzie in a vulnerable spot.... Things are either going to work out or they’ll be the Browns for twenty years.

So the Bears looks like a serious contender, and the picks acquired for Mack makes Gruden appear to be a bigger fool than he really is. Amari Cooper suddenly looks like a real #1 WR, another idiotic move made by Gruden. Michigan lost 5 star safety Daxton Hill to Alabama. I'm sure the beating to OSU didn't change his mind. Reggie McKenzie just got fired too. Gruden is taking them apart one piece at a time.

Exactly. Happened in Florida before OSU. He’s got the media on the hook. All they could talk about during “The Game” was his headaches brought on by game intensity and that it was only a matter of time before he stepped down. Obviously the perception of Meyer doesn't matter. He will go down in OSU as one of the greatest coaches they have had. HE OWNED the Small Ten and every coach should be pissed he's retiring. Instead you have fans rejoicing because his retirement. You have had terrible Small Ten coaches beat OSU, and somehow Harbaugh was 0-4 against him.
USC has been filled with Kingsbury yesterday I believe. Meyer will rest for 2-3 years and come back to turn around a struggling program.
I saw conflicting reports on Kingsbury. Is he the HC or the OC? He had Patriot ties and I was hoping he might want to OC for Stafford. OSU fans think Urban is Jesus. Somebody tweeted about how he is a bad person because he knew about the domestic violence and turned his back. The OSU fans were pitying her and saying how they’d be praying for her. How could she say such bad things about such a great man and how could she say it if she didn’t know him personally? Losers.

This just fits his usual pattern. In a couple of years a big job at a scumbag University that doesn’t care that he’s a scumbag will get offered to him and the circle will begin again. That was my original thought, too. He tends to have medical problems just before the SHTF. Exactly. Happened in Florida before OSU. He’s got the media on the hook. All they could talk about during “The Game” was his headaches brought on by game intensity and that it was only a matter of time before he stepped down.

There are already rumors out there involving him with USC and the Cleveland Browns. Another thing I heard, which seems very plausible, is that his "retirement" is part of an agreement Meyer made with OSU as part of his three-game suspension. Doubt.

Urban Meyer set to retire from coaching after the Rose Bowl. The biggest victory for UM this season! This just fits his usual pattern. In a couple of years a big job at a scumbag University that doesn’t care that he’s a scumbag will get offered to him and the circle will begin again.

So with OSU more likely going to the Rose Bowl have anyone heard what bowls the rest of the SmallTen will attend? Michigan to the Peach vs. Florida State to the Redbox vs. Oregon

Eruff, I agree with you about the Michigan Man bullshit. But I think the problem is internal and a mindset, not Harbaugh. IF Harbaugh leaves, there will just be another public outcry to get another Michigan Man. I'll bet if/when Harbaugh leaves, Les Miles, Tyrone Wheatley and Mike Hart will be names mentioned as replacements. Harbaugh is doubly woven into the Michigan Man fabric because he was already an existing, high profile coach and a former (successful) QB at the University. And by the way, I asked you Eruff: Who would you replace Harbaugh with? My answer in 2014 is the same as it is today: Chris Peterson, not a Michigan Man. I don't care for the names. Results are what I want. Harbaugh is a overrated, over paid HC that has the balls of the UM program. I have a open unanswered question about Harbaugh. What has he won to make him such a high profile coach?
Nothing. He turned around San Diego St. and Stanford then took the 49ers to a Super Bowl that they lost to his brother. Les Miles just doesn’t give the locals a woody so Harbaugh was anointed the savior.

He was on everybody’s list as the guy. There were no more Michigan Men available and still aren’t. After the Rich Rod fiasco there is no way they are making a hire that isn’t a Michigan Man. Even if it dooms the program. What the hell has a Michigan man done for the program in the last 50 years? The Michigan Man slogan is bullshit and it's tired. The program hasn't done shit since 97. 10 win seasons without any substance is all this program have produced since 07. I’m not disagreeing with you. I was stating a fact. Whether or not it’s working won’t change what they do.

The only hope UM has right now is if Urban Meyer retires. UM will never beat OSU except for fluke now and again, and UM will not fire Harbaugh. Classic UM fan post lmao... How do you figure? Classic Michigan post is elitist and confident. That post was neither of those things.

I STOPPED being a fan of UM when they hired Jim. That was the last day I rooted for UM.
Now to the delusional UM fans that thought UM really had a chance against a wounded OSU team was proved wrong again. Haskins was in the top 10 nationally, so the QB debate with Patterson was/is laughable to say the least. Meyer owns the SmallTen and hasn't even broke a sweat in his time as OSU head coach. Had the OL player didn't get hurt they would've dropped 70 on UM, lmao....

Taken at face value yes. Though I think if Michigan would have been able to get pressure on Haskins and knock him around a little bit he wouldn’t have looked so good. I STOPPED being a fan of UM when they hired Jim. That was the last day I rooted for UM.

I didn’t say Patterson was better. I said if Haskins got knocked around he wouldn’t have been dropping dimes.

This is the first time in a long time that Michigan (may) have a better quarterback than OSU. This post aged well Taken at face value yes. Though I think if Michigan would have been able to get pressure on Haskins and knock him around a little bit he wouldn’t have looked so good.

I have not watched them play. Their loss was to Purdue. Valenti for what it’s worth says they don’t run the ball and can’t stop the run. Haskins is deadly when he has time and can stand in the pocket which he isn’t likely to do against Michigan’s D. He think Michigan will win. It’s still a rivalry game so I doubt things will get out of hand score wise.

Are you saying you don’t think they’ll beat OSU? What makes you think any different than what has happened in the last decade? I know OSU looks all disjointed and out of sync. Unless you think they’re tanking just enough not to lose their other games so they can surprise Michigan?

Doesn’t it point to JBC either way? It's bizarre because Stafford and JBC had success early on, it seems to have all collapsed this season. I can’t explain it. At the end of last year the offense looked a little more dynamic with plays like what’s dubbed the “Philly Special” now. Does JBC think he won his job and it’s safe now or is somebody else telling him to keep it restrained? With what offense is doing in this league this season I can’t believe JBC thinks this is innovative.

Michigan shouldn't have lost to ND, so this is their own fault! They also have to march into the Shoe and beat OSU before that can be a conversation... Are you saying you don’t think they’ll beat OSU?

They aren’t going to take a $49M cap hit. Whether you like him or not he’s gonna be here. Eric Ebron will be in the pro-bowl this off season..... I guess I’m happy he’s going to live his dream. Seems like that’s the only thing he cared about while he was here. The Pro Bowl. The one Colts game I saw this year it looked like he still has the drops. Is he the focus of this offense or just getting a high amount of targets?

In a weird way, I'm glad they kept Jim Bob Cooter as OC. Because had Patricia brought in another OC, then that would have been the excuse by Stafford apologists. Doesn’t it point to JBC either way?

The weird part is the first and third quarters are his most efficient quarters. They just don’t score. He throws more picks in the second and fourth. Everybody gets garbage time stats. Stafford needs to be better and be able to carry the team but he shouldn’t bear all the blame. JBC’s scheme is a big reason we struggle. JBC's scheme was suppose to hide Padford accuracy issues. The entire roster will turnover before the fans finally start to lay the blame at Padford doorstep, by that time its OVER. The window of mediocrity is closing as well. My suggestion is take whatever offer you can for Padford and attempt to find good talent to build around in the draft.....
