I didn't say a word. I just knew I had to get out of Ann Arbor before all hell broke loose. I think I was headed to the door before he scored. At my buddies house & he was turning the channel as he approached the goal line!!

I think he's just sick of losing and he's 70. Listened to the press conference & he basically said the first part. His point was that 11 years ago he was the best guy for the job & as of today he is not............thus he was getting out of the way. He said he was resigning, not retiring. Said he may turn up on a High School sideline, you never know.

May as well add Spurrier to this list Have been a closet Gamecocks fan for long time. Have always been a Spurrier fan too. Sad to see him go out like this.
Wonder if RichRod would have the stones to make the move to the SEC.

So Harbaugh is de emphasizing the rivalries. Didn't we go nuts when dickrod did that? You think that's what he's saying behind closed doors. Not so fast my friend!

Sark canned. Hoke is going to have lots of bidders. Will be interesting to see what the Trojans do/who's interested in La La Land. Is Jim Caldwell a fit?????????????????????????????

Must be football season. Valenti did one of his fake rants to start the show. First time I had tuned in for months & heard that too. Didn't know whether to laugh at Valenti or cringe.

Dilfer analyzing is worse than the loss. No doubt. His comparison with the call to backside holding on running plays was as brain dead of a comment as I've ever heard.

I get that the lions got boned.. But A) Caldwell has to know and challenge that ruling ( I dont mean with a challenge flag, I mean get in the ref's face and at least force a ref huddle up). B) CJ has to secure the ball. that wasnt the last play of the game.. the absolute worst outcome of that play after he caught the ball and ran forward should have been first and goal at the 1 Definitely agree with your point B. However every ballplayer in the league would have done the same thing by extending the ball. I know it would be tough to enforce, but I have forever said that I don't believe it should be considered a Touchdown unless the ball hits the plane of the goal with the ball under the arm of the ball carrier or in the natural carrying position. Not a fan of a guys body being on 1/2 yard line or so, yet he reaches out & puts the ball across to meet the plane, thus a touchdown.

I think this game against BYU, we're starting to see some tangible differences between the two coaching staffs. Michigan has steadily improved each week. This was a complete game, a total ass whipping, on both sides of the ball. They've allowed 14 points in the last 12 quarters of football. Oregon St is flat out terrible, UNLV one of the bottom 5 teams in all of college football and the overrated BYU that was one pass play away from being out of the top 25. I have come to terms that it's only three area's that will make UM season a sucess. 1. OSU 2. MSU 3. Conf Championship game. The rest is just window shopping. Hate to say it but 9-3 with competitive losses to MSU & OSU and Utah end up being the real deal (no more than 1 loss to either USC or UCLA) will be considered a successful season to me. Hate to play the moral victory card but this year I am. Am I greedy & want at least 1 home win vs. the rivals, damn sure. But based upon what we've got at QB & in the backfield trying to keep it in perspective.

Beauty of a day in College Football yesterday. Evil Bama & Entitled USC going down! Nebraska with an amazing comeback only to shoot selves in the foot in OT & lose to the Canes. UCLA rallying late to end BYU's magic. LSU's Fournette going ultra beast mode vs. Auburn. Texas....Rally from way back in the 4th only to not get to OT due to missed PAT. Lionesque!! Bucknuts looking like crap vs. Northern Illinois.....who kinda looked like crap too! Joegia steamrolling the Ole Ballcoach (he done). ND.....manhandled Techsters to my chagrin. Bert Bielema getting embarassed again....BEFORE he gets into his meaty SEC schedule (and gets blasted by Texas Tech's Coach Kingsbury in the process, shut up & coach B.B)!
wow!!!!

Tall order to go in and defeat a squad that took us out at home last year quite easily, beat USC, UCLA & Stanford. Hope you're correct but not optimistic.

The future of this organization rests on Verlander. It's a tall order, and somewhat unfair, but he (literally) signed up for this. Saw on the "net" where Dery on his radio show says if JV continues to look good the rest of the season try & move him & his beauty of a contract this off season.

While the games most likely will NOT be interesting at all, if I was a season ticket holder of Western or Central I would be pretty stoked to open up hosting MSU & Okie State respectively. Get a nice buzz at the tailgate, then Somehow, someway, get a 3&out or two to open the game or some break to put a score on the board early & the game could be a ton of fun for a while.

I think we're officially in the dog days of summer, and little-to-no topics for sports talk radio. Yesterday on 105.1: Ryan/Rico and Dehry were discussing the "opinion" of Joe Shad that "Michigan will be competing for National Titles in three years". The three of them were shocked, that Shad would make such a statement. Really, is it that hard to believe, that coach will get things rolling by year three? And along with that, it was just one writers opinion. Listened to the interview. Dude said by year "three or four" they would compete for Natty's, yet all EVERYBODY can say is that Shad said by year three they will compete. I know it's not a big difference, but c'mon. Lay the appropriate facts or quote out there please.

Gonna be at the Arcadia Brewery in Battle Creek Friday. Any other bars in B.C. worth hitting? So, what did ya hit? Arcadia for some IPA's......Territorial also which had all German inspired beers. Didn't know anything about it going in. Wish we would have skipped that for Dark Horse. Just didn't have enough time for D.H. Heading to K-Zoo in early August to do Bell's & the surrounding small breweries. Maybe zip up to Founders but not sure. Traverse City Music & Microbrew Fest later in August.

I know I should believe that Lebron is better than Jordan at this point, but I can't get my mind to think it. Lebron puts up amazing stats but I'm not amazed watching him play. Not sure why that is. My take is because Lebron is doing it against physically inferior competition that just doesn't play balls out defense, so it doesn't seem that difficult for him. Just seems like other than being such a high flyer, Jordan did it against competition that was much more physically imposing, that rivaled him physically & guys that played balls out on the defensive end.

I was going to post the same thing about Murrells Inlet. I went to a wedding there and liked it a lot. Nice beach and boardwalk area. I really wouldn't want to stay in the hotels in MB. Too many kids and trailer trash. We pretty much just go to the broadway at the beach area of MB which is inland a bit. We stop by Barefoot Landing in addition to Broadway at the Beach when going deep into MB. It's home to House of Blues. A place called Bully's has 30-40 taps, many are fairly basic, but there are always some microbrews that may or may not hit the spot. Always enjoy Dick's Last Resort too.
