In honor of MNF being in Mexico City Westwood One is letting a Mexican guy do the play by play and it's awful. Pretty sure I heard them say it was the first NFL "regular season" game played outside of the US. I guess Europe is part of the US now......... It's not even the first one in that city. The Cardinals played the 49ers there a decade ago.

Isn't the heisman a national award? So he is there based on national perspective.
Just because valenti has said all year he isn't a heisman player doesn't make it true

Such a strange college sports town. Hometown media rips you to shreds. Valenti did the same to McGary.

I am a Michigan fan and lean towards him not belonging as a finalist but seriously why does it matter? Be happy for the guy and move on with your life. People like a novelty and not many players play so many positions and are efftive at it. If Valenti isnt trolling Michigan fans he is sleeping. I understand giving an opinion but arguing about it for weeks is stupid

I just said your response was weak. There's nothing weak about being the best pure football player in the country. The Heisman voters have confirmed this. The NFL will put any argument against him to rest in April.

The NFL will put any argument against him to rest in April. The weak part is saying oh well he's there, should be, and there's no discussion. You relentlessly defending him when I didn't attack him tells me that maybe you didn't feel he should be there either but just really wanted him to be. Now that it's happened life is perfect. Why muddy the waters by discussing it?

Peppers took his game to another level this season. He played an astounding 933 snaps during the 2016 campaign, logging 726 plays on defense, 53 plays on offense and 154 snaps on special teams. Peppers has seen the field at 15 different positions this fall.
Peppers has been one of the leaders on Michigan's top-ranked defense. He is tied for second on the team with a career-best 72 tackles this season. Peppers leads the team, ranks third in the Big Ten and No. 25 in the NCAA with 16 tackles-for-loss (1.3 avg.). He has also contributed four sacks and one interception and forced one fumble.
One of the nation's most dynamic returners, Peppers has 570 return yards. He has 21 punt returns for 310 yards and one touchdown; his 14.8-yard average per punt return ranks fourth nationally. In addition, Peppers has 10 kickoff returns for 260 yards (26.0 avg.).
On offense, Peppers has carried the football 27 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns and has two receptions.

The Big Ten coaches gave him three different awards this week. He's highly thought of, it sounds like you're still trying to convince us Freddie.

Many Heisman winners suck in the NFL. The NFL will prove nothing No. I am not making any declarations on how good he will be in the NFL. What I am saying is this: NFL GM's and coaches will tell us what they truly feel about Peppers during the draft.

He is arguably not even the best player on his own defense. So you're saying he should be there just because he plays on offense, defense, and special teams? Even though he hasn't played that great at all of them? Being versatile and playing both ways is important but I also think that you should have some nationally recognized stats if you're going to be in consideration. If special teams was the deciding factor in the Heisman voting then he's your guy. He has no interceptions and I think ranks around 180 nationally in tackles.

How did he do in the big games? ....and he was absent in big games. Interception and kickoff return that led to TD against OSU. Multiple tackles for loss against MSU and extra point return. Probably the reason we beat Colorado.

I was just trolling on that one. I don't think he's the winner but he's done enough to be in the conversation.

I don't think he's the winner but he's done enough to be in the conversation. I go back and forth. Based on skill I think he should probably be there, but the big touchdown scoring, game saving plays were below everyone's expectations for him. A punt return to finish off Iowa in the 4th quarter would have been nice.
