My wife got me a Weber Genesis last year. I used to think that they were over priced, and previously had the $199 special. This thing is awesome, and we'll worth the price. I'd recommend it to everyone. It cooks perfectly, controls are really precise, no flare ups, etc. One thing that I think makes it cook so well, is the lid weighs about 30 pounds, I think that it's so heavy and solid, it holds the heat better, and doesn't dry out the meat.

Agreed, I cook with them up at the lake and there is no question they are better

Weird... As long as you are seeing her updates, than all is good. Want to buy some Rodan and Fields? What the duck is wrong with people and their product pushing these days. Skincare that works.

I don't really know what realistic expectations are... But it's the 2 dermatologists that created Proactive. Once they sold off Proactive, and their non-compete ran out... They created Rodan and Fields with a Pyramid sales model. It's a very good product, but unlike a lot of the other pyramid deals out there, like phone lines, supplements, knives, etc... It's a much bigger market and woman spend a shit load on products once they find something they like... So their is a stronger annuity with reorders.
Wifey got curious and tried some products for herself and saw some pretty good results. Best friends mom just finished Chemo for breast cancer and has smoked for 40 years and had horrible skin... I almost didn't recognize her after she used some products for a month- the results were pretty powerful. That motivated them to jump in and try selling it.
The wife has been doing it for a month and made $600 so far. My buddy's wife is in her 2nd month and made $1100. The start up cost was $750. If she makes back her investment- I'll be happy.
I don't know if they will be retiring on it and making $500k a year like their 2 "sponsors", but if they generate a little play/vacation money and at least cover the cost of their own product use... Then run with it and see what happens.

Sweet... PM me your credit card number and I'll get you some eye cream...
....
As for the big green egg- don't do what I did and buy the Lowes Generic knock off version. Cost about $400
Instead of $800... And I fully understand where they cut costs. I will say that if you have one... The shit you cook on it will be amazing. However, it's a huge time commitment. So I would recommend having a small cheap gas grill for when you just want something quick and easy.

I had to return the first one because it started rusting the first time it rained. It's insulated aluminum instead of clay (and weighs about 100lbs less). Naturally, it doesn't achieve and maintain temp as well. It takes me about 45mins of fucking with dampers to get the right temp and then, bc it's not insulated as well- it doesn't hold that temp as long. I've still made some awesome ribs and brisket on it. I tried doing a ham though and couldn't keep the temp around 250 (kept dropping below 200) and it took about 4 hours longer than it should have to cook and ended up tasting like a camp fire

Thanks for the heads up. I've read a bunch of good things about BGEs. They are supposed to be awesome grills. For as much as "we" (me) cook out (4-5 nights per week year round), a really nice grill is in order. My current grill is 6-7 years old and really showing its age.

I can't get over the "looks like a dumb egg" factor. I'm fine with propane.

After Why go through all that trouble and put on a tiny deck like that? Do you not plan on ever having guests over?

Wife is ordering me to buy a gas fire pit today. The price range on them goes from 400 to 3,000. I think I'll go closer to 400.
