Decided to go with composite. Not sure on the rails. Right now he's quoted me this:
Proposed rail to be Trex Reveals maintenance free powder coated aluminum railing system.

If you ever decided to hang anything or mount anything on the railing system, you might introduce some issues with the power coat coming off the areas you drill into...and then over time it will start coming off even more. That would be my thought on that.

Who puts a plastic deck on their house? Go with real wood. It's like what a weekend a year of maintance to power wash and reseal the thing? If you can't commit to that then you shouldn't even own a house.

Current house about to be listed. My realtor still thinks we should be listing for some exorbitant amount that no one will ever pay. Masons just started brick and drywall is about to start. They claim the economy is down. The economy hasn't affected the construction industry. We had several painters, concrete and electricians turn down work sight unseen.

I think it must be pretty good to be in construction right now with all the bonus money the auto industry just paid out. The economy isn't down.

Yeah, it must be really good to be in construction...
I just had a guy who gave me a quote for 40 sqft of brick pavers call and threaten me on the phone for wasting his time because I thought his minimal job fee of $800 was ridiculous
He told me originally that he had a minimum $800 fee and asked if I was okay with it. He was the first person to do a quote, so I didn't know what to expect and I said "maybe". After he came out- I had two other people propose $400 and $500 for the job. This guy calls me today and I told him I'm not going to go with him and he proceeds to rip my asshole open on the phone. I hang up and he calls me back - leaving a voicemail threatening that he's going to teach me a lesson while cussing up a storm. Great way to do business.

I represent people with substance abuse issues on the regular and you give me a run for my money.

How hard is it to install track lighting? I was thinking about changing the couple of light bulbs i have in the basement to a track lighting thing. Better lighting in the workout area would be nice.

Track lighting is pretty easy....
Just make sure to leave the power on while installing it- So you know which wires are which.

Looks like our realtor was right. We opened the house for showings for the first time yesterday. This morning we got a full price offer with no contingencies and they don't care if they have to wait until June to move in.

Looks like it. There were no comps to support our list price. I figured that was too high. The house across the street was listed around this price, same model on a better lot. It took them two months including a price reduction.

Decided to go with composite. Not sure on the rails. Right now he's quoted me this: Proposed rail to be Trex Reveals maintenance free powder coated aluminum railing system. Last night we found the diagram for our deck. Miles Bradley charged $15.63 / sq ft. Killer Decks was going to charge $22.64 / sq ft.

I'm about to call Comcast for the 5th time to try to get these idiots to run the line to my house. Every time I call, they say it's been canceled in the system.

This time it wasn't cancelled. They want $3,300 to run the line to the house. The guy on the phone said that's less $700 for some hook up extension or whatever. I don't see why adding that would reduce the cost. The final cost is probably going to be $4,000. DTE ran my electricity and gas lines for less than half of that amount COMBINED. They ran those utilities on different days about two months apart. It's not like they ran the lines on the same day in order to save money.

I'm assuming you have no other option. I'd hate to be married to them forever.

I'm just going to ignore those prices per sq. foot that pSupa Hot Fire posted, because my cost is more than double those.
Good news is they start in less than 2 weeks! I just want a fucking deck at this point with a grill etc. We moved in right before winter and I've felt closed in ever since.

I can't even go back to DSL. No one knows who the phone company is in my area. I called Comcast and AT&T at the same time. AT&T actually showed up. I happened to be driving to the house as the AT&T guy was leaving. He said this isn't ATT's area and I should try Verizon. Verizon doesn't provide land line service. WTF
