I'm not going to kill you for it, to each his own. But, there is so much garbage out there nowadays, the Foo Fighters are one of the few bands that play rock. Everything else is so poppy. And speaking of that, and Taylor Swift above, doesn't it seem like we are in pop princess hell? Every other day there is one of these chicks popping up, going beyond the Swifts, Katy Perry.... Now we have this Izzy Azelia, Arianna Grand, and that "all about that Bass" girl. Seems every day there is a new one.

My issue with the foo fighters is two fold. As Corgan said on stern, they haven't evolved at all. I like their sound, but no evolution in 15 years? Also, their band name is really gay.
Great bands change over time and explore a little bit.

I have to scrounge the depths of canada to find any decent rock these days. I've always considered myself to be a rock music nut and there just isn't anything worth a damn recently that gets any radio air play. Maybe some credibility with the black keys, but its really thin.

I can't really compare music in the last 25 years or so to that stuff. Plus, Zepplein was only around for 10 or so years and I hate the Stones.

Rivals may not be a part of your argument but there has been nobody to push them. They have had the top to themselves. The Black Keys have been the only thing recently worth anything.

That's just party of being creative and pushing yourself. It has nothing to do with other bands. This isn't football.

I also can't get into Foo Fighters, their sound is really bland to me. I like maybe a few songs of theirs.
Not liking the Stones is blasphamy

Really interesting remix. Smooth as heck. I like when people take an original work and flip in a completely different way.

And to be honest, a lot depends on what kind of rock you listen too...There have been some good heavy bands that have come around..
Also, Jack White is a fucking genius..and constantly transcends what he is...
Black Keys are ok, just seem like a one trick pony to me..
Im a huge fan of Pearl Jam and what they have done for 25 years

And to be honest, a lot of bands stick around because of that...
