I think Corgan respects them, so you agree with him. ok, thanks for making it more clear...I just read it as he does not respect them cause they sound similar each album.... And to be honest, a lot of bands stick around because of that... This is what he said. I don't disagree with him personally. soundcloud.com/howardstern/smashingpumpkins_davegrohl

If you're into Post-Punk this is a great local band. They are playing a show Downtown on 12/26 for $5

Perhaps this would be a good thread, but does anyone else ever compare their favorite bands/musicians in terms of sports stars and their careers? It's really subjective but can be interesting to see how people view musicians
For example here's a short list I have (these aren't all necessarily my favorite bands but I included musical impact in my list):
Beatles - Gordie Howe Rolling Stones - Bobby Orr Led Zeppelin - Mario Lemieux (both ended way too soon) Pearl Jam - Bobby Hull Soundgarden - Nick Lidstrom Metallica - Mark Messier AC/DC - Steve Yzerman NIN - Joe Sakic Stone Temple Pilots - Paul Coffey Kiss - Tim Cheveldae

I was wondering what type of response that would get. I guess he is saying they are both guano but Lauryn was actually good unlike Titus.

Okay, Titus Young - Blu Cantrell.
I was just trying to play along with whatever you'd call this game guys. I clearly didn't put as much thought into it as Pollux and D2O are.

The B-52's aren't bad, aren't great.
They're an odd band to gauge. I like some of their guitar riffs, like on Rock Lobster and Private Idaho....sounds a lot like a rock band on some of those songs. But then they go and do Love Shack and Roam, and it sounds like a pop song.

I like good music and they've made some really good songs. I think people get too caught up in genres and trying to fit things into a category. I can listen to the B52s, Compton's Most Wanted, The Cinematic Orchestra, Charlie Daniels, Rotary Connection and Sade back to back and not care about anything but hearing some good music.
