I didn't realize Nike owned the old maize color. I thought Brandon just preferred the neon yellow.

It has been public for a long time that Nike owned the trademark to the color. However the highlighter yellow was not a Dave Brandon thing. That was started by Bill Martin. If you look at what Brandon was doing with Adidas, he was trying to move back to a darker shade closer to maize.

If you look at what Brandon was doing with Adidas, he was trying to move back to a darker shade closer to maize. They trademarked their version of maize and the name associated with it. This has been beaten to death on mgoblog. Adidas/UM could have very easily moved the color back to yellow/maize and just called it chicken teeth or something different. They just couldn't refer to it as "maize" in print and blatantly copy the exact color. I still don't really get who was pushing the highlighter. Seems like nobody will own up to it. Maybe it was just Adidas trying to update the look.

How the hell did UofM let Nike trademark that name? It was always maize and blue when I was growing up. Why would M allow them that?

Huge shoe deals, great coach, lots of twitter followers, big stadium, high star recruits....we're great at everything except the actual game.

You're too sad, even for me Philly. We got our taste of a downturn. Every major program has one. We will emerge before you're 50.

Is it confirmed? I saw they approved his transfer request, but it didn't confirm that he has officially submitted the paper work and is still talking to that DII school

Number 1 recruit Rashan Gary no longer coming for the bbq at the big house. I think big time recruits put Michigan high on their list just so they can make their parents think they care about academics.

I think we're officially in the dog days of summer, and little-to-no topics for sports talk radio.
Yesterday on 105.1: Ryan/Rico and Dehry were discussing the "opinion" of Joe Shad that "Michigan will be competing for National Titles in three years".
The three of them were shocked, that Shad would make such a statement. Really, is it that hard to believe, that coach will get things rolling by year three? And along with that, it was just one writers opinion.

Dude said by year "three or four" they would compete for Natty's, yet all EVERYBODY can say is that Shad said by year three they will compete. I know it's not a big difference, but c'mon. Lay the appropriate facts or quote out there please.

Yeah, all they focused on was three years. That and they they tried to say Shad said MSU was a "cute little story", which I did not hear him say....its like they are trying to create drama out of nothing.

Ready to see some actual football. Want to see kids get better over the course of the season for the first time in...a decade?
