sam webb sounds like a guy who wants to make sure everyone knows that in spite of appearances for the last 10 years, michigan really IS the best place on earth and every coach including grudencowherjohnson would jump at the chance to coach here.
even if it's bullshit.

outstanding. have no reservations about this hire - unlike the last two. also, the "reporters" in that mess were absolutely brutal. other than the question about him knocking the academics, every one of those was barely intelligible. Well, aren't these glorified Dick sucking fests in the end? Lol i don't mean softball questions, i mean non-questions. more than once he couldn't even understand what they were trying to ask. and multiple "huhuhuh... any guarantees about ohio state?". just dumb. |

why do people think a players draft position/salary has anything to do with their ability? christ, it's not like a guy would get incrementally faster/smarter/more accurate based on where he was taken or how much he's paid.
you can give roy williams stupid-money and he still sucks. kickers who can't kick, tight ends who can't catch and/or block, trading away extra picks to take drew motherfucking stanton in the 2nd round.
but good idea to bitch about the player.

i see where he's coming from. 20 years of "if we just had a qb who wasn't terrible, and could manage a game..." - then you get one, and people are pissed he's not aaron rodgers.
ignoring the fact that rodgers would suck taking snaps from that turnstile for 5 years.

but the key point is they didn't... and the whole playoff thing means no one lucks into an nc, even if they get a weak spot in the playoff.
edit: plus - had baylor played even 1 decent non-conference game, then... better regular season, and better shot at a playoff spot.

i heard over the weekend that the $8m is actually his entire budget, then he hires his own staff out of it, ala saban. which makes the number a little more sensible.
