Is there something about running on the sidewalks that runners don't like? I see these runners all over aa that have to run in the road when there are tons of sidewalks to be on. Ann Arbor makes a big deal aobut the sidewalks and pedestrians. Why run in the road when it's safer to run on a sidewalk? The other day I was traveling down a side street thoroughfare and two people were running right down the middle of the road. Cars parked either side of the road, I gotta drive down the middle. When i beep the horn I get a dirty look for making them yield to a vehicle. Assholes.
And don't get me started on bikers that travel in packs and take up the whole lane. Argh.

Yes, tripping on the cracks and the space between the edge and grass. Dog/baby walkers in the way. Some people also prefer running on asphalt.

I was doing a lot of cycling, triatholons and adventure racing. Since I had to give up running, and we don't have a pool nearby, cycling has been my "thing." I'm also in the market for a new bike. I just sold my road bike so I'm limited to the mountain bike. It's heavier and slower, which is why my mileage is down. Still a good workout, but a long ride just takes too darn long. New bike after the new year. I'm thinking steel. What are you thinking about getting? Why steel? I like some of the classic road racing bikes that have been restored. I'd like to get one of those someday. Our roads are made of chip seal. THat means they put down rock, then poor the asphalt over it to keep it together. The rock will "polish" over time from use, but the unpolished areas remain rock. Lots of vibration. Steel is more supple, and soaks up the vibration the best, and holds up better than carbon. Carbon is good for absorbing road vibration (the first time I road it, switching from aluminum, I thought I had a tire going soft-LOL), but carbon will relax over time and gets whippy. It's fine for pros who get new frames every year, but for those of us on a budget, once you get to a certain level of milealge, the carbon loses its rigidity. Also, carbon can crack if you crash, and cannot be repaired.

Day 9 of Stronglifts today. The lifts still aren't tough, but they're getting tougher considering there's a 5 lb increase each day. I have to resist the urge to do more reps, but I want to stick with the program.
Today is 155lb Squat, 95lb bench press, and 80lb barbell row. Diddy get on this program

Barely. This left shoulder injury is a bitch. I can comfortably bench like 200 lbs with my right side, and like 12 lbs on my left. The overcompensation is going to cause some problems.

I tried to bench for the first time in about 5 years a few weeks ago. I got 135 up about twice and was sore the next day.

I originally started lifting so that I could hold my kid more than 5 minutes at a time without feeling like my arms are falling off my shoulders. It actually has been pretty great for that purpose when we're out in public.

I'm suffering from this same vaginal issue. Left should is held together by silly string and pixie sticks at this point. It will fall out of socket 2 or 3 times just running. I should have took advantage of my copays all being met this year with the wife's c-section and got it fixed for free.

I like p90x. If you really want to get in shape, do the original one. The workouts are 60-90 minutes, 6 days a week for 3 months. I was in probably the best shape of my life after completing it. P90x3 is 30 minute workouts if you have less time to put into it.

Definitely need to be in shape for insanity. I wasn't in shape before p90x and it wasn't a problem.

I didn't touch the Compound lifts because those are the most important. Don't get too anxious moving up, that's how you snap your shit up. Deadlifts and Squats are by far my favorite lifts. The other 3 are much slower progressing wise. Do you lift in a power rack for Squats at least?
