Figured I would get this one going again... Bathroom project still not done. I have a new group of builders out here today. They were going to rip out the tile around the frameless door and remount the door. It needed to be done because the original guys hung it wrong and it was starting to sag. When they pulled down the old tile, they found the old contractor never put up cement board on the 2x4's and the shower pan wasn't cut right and there was already am area where water was leaking and causing the wood to rot. Fortunately- they can fix it all, but what was f a $600 job- became $1300 as I now have to order a brand new shower door. The old one won't fit once they put up the cement board. Fûcking hate contractors

I am considering it now. The guy here now thinks they didn't pull permits for the bathroom. They only did for the floors and subfloor leak that they fixed... Because he said that what he has shown me would absolutely not have passed inspection.
He said if that's the case- you have their nuts in a sling

Wow- pics?
I guess it makes sense- people have places in Florida when they live in Michigan. If I still lived in Michigan though- I would rock a place in the outer banks. At least you can make it there in 12 hours

I took a few on my iphone, however they turned out awfully dark for some reason.
plan on going there for 2 or 3 weeks in the summer ( GREAT golfing ) and perhaps another week or two in the spring or fall
eventually hope to spend the summers there

Anyone here have a metal roof? I liked they way they looked on the houses up north in the UP when we were there in the fall. I think the colored ones have come a long way. I like the idea of not needing another roof on this house ever.

They don't last "forever", but they will last longer than shingle and tile. My mom has a section of her house that has tin and it has had to be fixed a LOT over the past few years. It is probably about 40 years old now though.

40 years from now I won't be here in this house so that's 'forever' enough. Just thought they looked nicer than the old gray/half rusted metal roofs from the 70s and 80s.

It hangs low, like 9-10 feet off the ground. Old balls set up.

We are finally getting our house painted in a couple weeks. No more builder beige. My wife and I can't agree on colors. Not sure how that gets resolved.

I'm still dealing with the August 11th flood. I had a completely finished basement (bar, game room with solid oak pool table, home theater, etc)...44" of sewage; lost everything.
All new mechanical is in, along with washer and dryer, new shitter, etc. We will never rebuild it all though. Great space to play floor hockey now though :(
