New All-Star Format: Here’s how it’ll reportedly work at the 2016 ASG in Nashville:
There will be four teams of nine skaters and two goalies, one team for each of the four divisions (Atlantic and Metropolitan in the East; Central and Pacific in the West). There will be a 20-minute mini-game – likely two 10-minute halves – featuring one division versus another in 3-on-3 action followed by another 20-minute game with the other two divisions playing each other.
The two winning teams would then meet in a third 20-minute session for the so-called “championship” game.

That sounds extremely dumb and tiring for 9 guys.
It may be exciting but for 9 guys to play 40 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey end to end is brutal for them

Babcock's Mini me better get his shit together. If you close your eyes and listen to Blashill being interviewed, it sounds just like Babcock.

Have to be impressed with how the Wings have persevered this season. Still kinda think they're doing it with smoke & mirrors as can't say I'm impressed with their goaltending or their "D". The "O" seems to go into funks for long stretches as well. But the addition of Larkin has been huge. Hope the role players can up their contributions as the year progresses & Larkin doesn't hit the wall.

Huge 2 regulation pts. vs. the B's at home yesterday, especially after going down 3-1 & Peter M playing like dogshit. Nice to see Pavel being a Sniper lately. Picking up the slack for Tatar & Nyquist.

90's hockey was the best. Outside of the New Jersey Devil's "Left Wing Lock" days............Yes it was!!
P.S. How much do you STILL hate Patty Wah??!!

The Devil's didn't left wing lock. The Wings did. New Jersey was a neutral zone trap team. 90s hockey was that great. So much clutching and grabbing. It was great for us because the Wings were super talented and didn't play that style and could beat it because of their skill. Detroit and Colorado was amazing because both teams were amazingly skilled and had a lot of great skaters. Today's game is much faster and more fluid and skilled. In my opinion.

This season for me has been tough to watch. Some of their games have been mind numbing. The only 2 worth watching are Larkin & Mrazek, they even seemed to have slowed down a bit. Although Zetterberg is still I believe very good. I think they will barely get into playoffs and be golfing soon after that. Washington might let them 1 or 2 games, but that is that. Holland has to figure out in the off season what are the problems and try to fix them.

They need a defensemen BETTER than any they have on the roster right now. Grade B or better. Right now I don't see an above average defenseman on the team.

True it is an old bit. They haven't had a great power forward in years and these defense-men do not strike fear into anyone. Here is a tough question, does anyone here have the faith in Holland to make the changes. Because he maybe a hall-of-fame candidate, but his moves the last few years have not made a difference. He has had some good drafts, but his FA signings haven't been great and when is the last time he made a blockbuster trade? I still will have faith in the man, but he is making it harder.

Some of the years I get the lack of trade. This year I don't. We have some chips and they're all the same type of player. Make a value for value trade and improve your team.
His FA signings have been a nightmare.

What chips do we have? And who did you want the Wings to trade for? Some veteran to tey and help get them into the playoffs?
If anything they should have traded Quincey and Helm.
