Actually I know a few ND alums that live here. Good people, but are VERY obnoxious when it comes to their football team. One couple: he graduated from there, his wife graduated from St. Mary's (next door) and now their 2 kids go there. They fly that damn ND flag every Saturday.
I wanted to drop an a bomb on the ND students that would visit the big house when I was a student. I think the term douche bag started with an ND student observation.
I think that list is crap really. I think they just tried to actually apply metrics on certain things like art, income, etc. But overall it's dumb. I just thought it was funny that Northville and Rochester were 1/2. Having a list like that without Birmingham and Grosse Pointe (do people still live there?) is sort of crazy.
Excuse me sir, but GP is very alive and well. We have been living there for a while now. Yes you still have some snobs, but it has become more granola in recent years. People are very friendly. You go to the Country Club or Hunt Club and people are just very down to earth. Now you go to the GPYC or BYC, they are a little stuffy there. But seriously all 5 are great cities to live in and the amenities are second to none. My family and I highly recommend living there.
My wife is from there and I've been spending quite a bit time over there. The amenities are incredible. I went to the grosse pointe shores pool on Saturday for the first time. Great pool and kids splash pad right on the lake. Only maybe 30 people there. I've also been to the woods pool which is enormous. I think you also get a boat slip as a resident. I'd move there if I ever leave Northville.

They have boat-slips for rental at all the parks. You just have to be a resident. The tennis courts are great and the pools are very good too. If any of you leave "The Ville", come on over to the east-side. All of you sound like you would be pretty good neighbors.
Oh man I just wrote something about the wall I had to erase. Philly your going to get me in trouble with the politically correct crowd. But Miggy is welcome or anybody willing to buy in GP and fix up these older beautiful homes. Of course the home he bought is not a fixer upper.
A few too many at rib fest last night...quite an event
You ate/drank too many or there were too many people there?
