The “their taking our rights crowd” cost us college football. No shoes no shirt no service. But telling someone they need to wear a shirt and shoes and a mask it taking it too far. Gtfo. I agree with you Juicy. Such a shame that this whole thing was made political, and couldn't just be about common sense. Before any of data/studies/science came out about wearing masks, I told my family to wear the mask, because it will reduce the chance of catching or spreading covid. I knew full well that the virus needs N95 to filter out, but even a standard mask can reduce or slow it down. Even it only reduced the chance to spreadeing by 10-15-20%, it was worth it to wear a mask.

Nebraska got slapped down pretty hard. But I have a feeling this may be setting up Nebraska's departure in the next few years. I can see them going back to the Big 12.

Things are rough. I don’t know if we’re going to have football or not based on what MLB is going through. B10 just released a shortened schedule. Conference only games. This followed the UConn announcement cancelling the season. We'll see. NCAA is strangely quit right now on all of this. I think NCAA football has the worst odds of playing any games. If students are not on campus, how can they have games and practices?

So where is everyone at in regards to the mask/no-mask battle? If 90% of people wore one for 60-90 days we’d probably be done with this. At this point if you aren’t willing to mask up you’re the reason we won’t have fall sports. I don’t care what your reason is for not doing it but at least own the consequences of your actions. I agree with you, Pollux.

Draft hang-over: Disappointing again. What did you feel was disappointing? I wanted them to draft Tua or make a trade for a bunch of picks. I don't even feel like they tried, according to some of the reports coming out of Miami. I think Swift is a small, under-sized back. I liked both JK Dobbins and Jonathan Taylor better. But I also thought there were some good DT's on the board that they could have taken in the second round. Seems like they went heavy on offense for this draft (took another RB later in this draft, WTF?). Detroit was second from last in team defense last year. I feel like they swapped Darrius Slay for Okunah and didn't really improve on defense.

Interesting study coming out of USC and The California Health Dept. Their study claims that there are almost 500,000 people in the greater LA area that have Covid-19 and are undiagnosed.
If this is true, than the death rate for Covid-19 is much, much lower than anyone has been reporting. Here is why: We almost certainly know every case of Codid-19 deaths (and as Hoff was saying, they could even be inflating that number). But if the common denominator is much higher (total cases of Covid-19), than the death rate is significantly lower.
There is a big difference between 100 deaths/10,000 cases and 100 deaths/500,000 cases.

I am not a Whitmer fan, but I think it is important to get the facts straight: www.yahoo.com/news/fact-check-michigan-gov-gretchen-215759038.htmlThe state's FAQ on the order says, “While the order places certain limits on how goods are sold, it does not ban Michiganders from buying any item, including flags.” A representative from the state’s press office told USA TODAY that Whitmer did not ban the sale of US flags. The order notes large stores must close off areas of stores meant for carpeting, flooring, furniture, gardening and paint. The limits apply only to in-person sales and do not apply to stores with less than 50,000 square feet. Large stores are further required to implement measures that promote social distancing. The order encourages businesses to “consider establishing curbside pickup to reduce in-store traffic” and “explore alternatives to lines, including by allowing customers to wait in their cars for a text message or phone call.” “We’ve seen misinformation circulating, so I’d like to be very clear — the Stay Home, Stay Safe executive order does not ban the purchasing of car seats for children,” Whitmer tweeted Sunday.

I see plenty of people griping about it and the Governor on social media. This order isn’t a vacation. It’s in place to halt the spread of a virus that can be deadly. 1600 dead out of what? 25,000 cases in Michigan so far? People have their priorities fucked up. They did an in car drive up protest at the capital today because they believe the order is too strict. If selfish ass holes hadn’t ignored the first order this one wouldn’t have had to be so strict. People saying their civil liberties are being infringed in need to take a time out. Why is gardening banned? Seriously? You can do that in your own yard away from people. Golf requires no contact with other people. The bans are random and non-sensical. You can buy pot, lottery tickets and booze, but not vegetable seeds? C'mon. That is stupidly insane. It's safer to grow your own food than go to the store and buy it. Less contact with any potential contamination sites/points. The only food handler is you, and you have no contact with the public by going to a store. I haven't seen where gardening is specifically banned, rather the gardening center at Walmart/Lowes/Meijer is closed. It's not ideal, but you can order seeds or buy them from smaller retailers. We have a seed store in my town that is still operating. I believe we can still mow our lawn, just that landscapers are considered a non-essential business....just like barbers and dentists (my kid needs an orthodontist appt. soon!) I agree with you about people planting their own food, and would like to see more of that even in non pandemic times.

What do you guys think about the shelter in place order, no golf, no boating/fishing, no gardening? I see plenty of people griping about it and the Governor on social media. I am laughing at all the hilarity. I think the funniest part about it/them, is they laugh at the younger generation and call them snow flakes. They say they younger generation isn't tough and cannot handle adversity! Yet these people are crying and complaining because they cannot go fishing for 2 more weeks!

Lions free agency, and looks like the NFL is going to still hold the draft. If I see another mock I’m gonna go crazy. I just need the draft to actually happen. I'm going to be pissed when the Lions draft Okuna.

Since we are all quarantined, it would be nice to get this place hopping again! Wasn’t ever much going on in the slow times between sports and now there’s no sports. Lions free agency, and looks like the NFL is going to still hold the draft.

I'll be curious to see if there is riff/divide with MSU football, like there was with the Lloyd Carr and Rich Rodriguez peeps at UM.
I think there is something going on, with Dantonio conveniently "out-of-town" during the Mel Tucker introduction, and this MSU D-Lineman threatening to transfer if his old position coach is not retained.

I don't have any problem with, and totally understand both the amount of the salary and how/when he left Colorado. I think the media is making Tucker out to be a villain.
The only part I do not like (and I think we would all agree), is let the kids transfer. I like the idea of players getting one "free" transfer without penalty.

The more I read, the more I believe he's one step ahead of the NCAA. Just a couple of things I picked up off of Valenti's show yesterday: 1. MSU probably would have paid him the 4.3 million anyhow, even if he retired in Nov/Dec/Jan. 2. Dantonio is taking an administrative job in the MSU Athletic Department. You don't usually go work for the AD, if you are in trouble with the NCAA

Very disappointed in this. I was hoping he would have the good sense to resign. He's going to cost the University millions when they fire him after another disappointing season next year. He's too stubborn to right the ship. And no changes to the coaching staff?

Trump targets Dingell, late husband during rally with hell reference www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2019/12/18/trump-targets-dingell-late-husband-during-battle-creek-rally/2692307001/What the president said was reprehensible, and he needs to apologize to the Dingell family. But can I say one thing that bothers me, no actually pisses me off: Lets not act like these legislators are sacrificing or giving something up, to "provide a lifetime of service" to their country! These are not armed service members serving over-seas. These are very highly paid, lavish lifestyle, jobs. They drive around in Limos, fly all over the country for free, and get wealthy while "serving" the people. It is just bullshit and pisses me off. Rant over, sorry.
