I mentioned this in the Random Thoughts Thread, but wanted to mention it here. It is a true story about a murder that happened in 1999 in Baltimore. The girl murdered was a Korean high school student, and her ex-boyfriend got convicted. The more I listen to this, the more I am convinced that the ex-boyfriend didn't do it at all.

I started listening last week. Only through 2 episodes so far, but it's really really fascinating. No idea if he did it or not.

Is it the same people who do This American Life or did they get different people? I have a limit on how much of the NPR style talking I can handle. Usually I can only stomach one day a week (sat) before it gets on my nerves.

It is from the producers of This American Life.
As I get deeper and deeper into this, I have no doubt that Jay was more involved, and he pinned it on Adnan.

I started listening on Saturday, and was caught up yesterday. I went through withdrawals today. I was sitting in the parking garage at work this morning trying to get through episode 3. So this series is still going and it's released week by week?

Adnan looks like a typical brown teenager with a stache. I think he may be guilty. He's a smooth talker, a little too smooth.

Planned on diving into this in the coming weeks. I'll chime in after I've listened to the series and no longer fear spoilers.

Last episode is this week. There is a huge Sub-reddit about the podcast, and a lot of private shit was put out there that the mods had to later delete.

I don't see how adnan can't remember anything about that day. Seems too convenient. It was the day the girl you just dated for over a year disappeared.

Listening to 11. I do think he should have been found not guilty due to reasonable doubt. It seems like either Adnan or someone in the circle of friends had to be the killer. There's just no motive for anyone.

A friend of mine read the appeal brief from the case, one of the biggest things that came out of it was that not only was Jay provided a lawyer by the prosecution (unheard of), but Jay was allowed to sign the plea deal while pleading guilty, but then could withdraw his guilty plea after (the withdraw language was not in the plea deal). That is also unheard of.

That is also unheard of. That came out during the trial when jay was testifying. The defense attorney went nuts, but the judge said it didn't impact his testimony.

The first part came out during the trial (Prosecutor getting Jay the lawyer), but the part about the withdrawal came out later.

Listened to the last episode. It was kind of like I thought. Shouldn't have been found guilty but can't say he didn't do it. I don't see how he can't remember anything from the day his girlfriend disappeared. Too convenient. I'll only change my mind if the dna comes back as the other killer.

Yeah, I think the Innocence Project is just looking for it to come back as anyone BUT Adnan. I really think that if it wasn't Adnan, it was Jay, and he tried to frame Adnan.

I don't think Jay tried to frame Adnan but it's plausible that cops threatened him with a serious drug dealing charge if he didn't tell their version of the story. That would explain a lot.
