There has to be one of these, so here goes.
Currently next on my queue is Stephen King's Revival. Haven't started it yet, but I did download the audio book to my ipod. I was listening to Chris Jericho's The Best in the World last week before I hit the hospital. Kinda been slacking on my listening lately.
There is a book from my childhood I have on queue as well. When i was a kid there was a miniseries called The Last Convertible based on a book by that same name. The book is out of print, but I bought a used copy on Amazon. It's by Anton Myrer. I want to read it. It's about this group of friends in college after WWII and how they grow up and apart. Almost like a post war Big Chill.
Other than that, the book of short stories about the Longmire characters is also next for me. I've been waiting on listening to that one as well.

I listened to the Killing Patton audio book a couple months ago. It was pretty good if you're into history/war stuff.

Just finished the Cottonwood series by Gary Slaughter. The story follows two boys, Jase and Danny, living "Riverside, Michigan", whicn in reality is Owosso, Michigan. Story is set during WWII and chronicles life in a small town during that time period. Some of the stuff is LOL funny. Some is a bit unrealistic, but still entertaining.

I like to listen to them when I run.

Audible.com. $22 a month and you get 2 credits. 1 credit=1 book, and you can roll them over up to 12 credits. It's audio books only, but it is an Amazon company and you can sync the audio with the ebook.
Dr Sleep was no where near as good as The Shining. IMO King has lost his touch.

Currently listening to the book of The Silver Linings Playbook. Very good, and different from the movie. Good book though.
I've had Revival from King sitting on my ipod since November. Can't bring myself to listen to it because I dread what King has written about religion. He has become very political and liberal in his writing. Can't stand it. And the last 2 books I read weren't all that great.

I had a bunch of audible credits banked up from the winter, not having downloaded any books for most of the cold months. Being excited about the new star wars movie, I started downloading the star wars books available on audible. I started with the Dark Bane series and they have been pretty good. Never been very big on the star wars expanded universe but I have enjoyed those books. They were set long before the movies. Thinking about listening to the Old Republic series now.

BTW I found out that there is a sequel to One Second After that is coming out this fall. That book was very scary but I dig post apocalyptic fiction and I'm looking forward to it. It's called One Year After.
A good book that One Second After was based on partially is Alas Babylon. It was written in the 50s and the plot follows what happens after a nuclear war to an isolated Florida town. Good book, good audio version too.

Killing Kennedy is excellent. I just got an email from audible with the silver stack award. I have 200+ audiobooks in my library.

Love Killing Lincoln and Legends and Lies. Killing Kennedy is next up. Audiobooks are perfect for planes. You can be half asleep with your eyes shut while listening.

killing kennedy was disappointing to me.. just embraced the lone nut oswald theory. That is because Oswald clearly did it alone. There is no other story.

Started listening to "Finders Keepers" by Stephen King. Book 2 in the Mr Mercedes series. So far not bad. Better than Mr Mercedes, imo.
Contemplating Gone Girl next. Dug that movie so much, want to read the book.

Finders Keepers was a good book. Much better than Mr Mercedes. But overall subpar to his early works. Still recommend the book, it is an enjoyable read.

After avoiding it for the last year, I finally listened to Revival by Stephen King. I was really dreading it because of King's recent leakage of his personal political and religious views into his writing. But I read a couple good things about it. So I listened to it this week.
That book has a very disturbing ending and it's still messing wtih my head. It's not particularly scary, but it sucks you in to the story and gets you involved in the characters, then kicks you in the balls at the end. And it really stays with you. This is probably the best book he has written since 11/22/63, and one of the best books he's ever written. It's old school 70s King. I really liked it.

"National Security and Double Government" by Michael J. Glennon. This book was recommended by a friend. It can be a little technical in sections, but it is a fascinating read. You will like it if like reading about the inner workings of our government. Dr. Glennon is a Professor of International Law, from Tufts University.

Anyone read "Endzone" by John U Bacon yet? I just downloaded it and will start listening to it next week. Took a while to come out in audio, I am interested to see what it holds. His book on RichRod was pretty interesting.
