Nice of directv to increase my bill $8 a month. Now paying $172 for satellite and internet with no pay stations. Am a I crazy to consider switching to comcast? It would save me $750 a year for two years on their new customer deal. Does Direc tv have real On Demand or am I just doing this wrong?

You have to be connected to wifi. Mine always loses the wifi connection for some reason.

Comcast is better than WOW in terms of the actual product. Depends what that is worth to you. I had wow for a while and hated the on demand selection, the menus, had problems with their hardware, thought the Internet service was slower and a little unpredictable, and a few other things. Switched back to Comcast even though it was a little more expensive. I pay around $180 with a few premium channels.
Now I'm considering just ditching cable totally. Everyone I know with young kids tells me Netflix and streaming is the only thing that matters.

My 12 year old watches no tv. He thinks watching tv is punishment. My 9 year old watches netflix 90% of the time and watches a few shows on disney channel.
The wow equipment scared me away last time I looked into them for tv. I'm not sure if this ultra equipment is any better. I feel like it's the Metro PCS of tv service.

Caucus I think you need another receiver. Whenever I go to the on demand page, it only lists a bunch of stuff that's coming on next week or stuff that aired exactly today. It's not like Comcast's on demand unless I am doing something wrong.

I don't know what you guys are expecting out of cable. I turn the tv on, it works. On demand works, the internet is what I expect out of it and the dvr works for multiple shows across multiple rooms

And you can get on Netflix straight from the cable setup menu

And you can get on Netflix straight from the cable setup menu I think that's the best way to use Netflix.

I know we overpay for Comcast. It's just so convenient, reliable and good. I guess you get what you pay for, because I've never had any issues. I love the guide, the new voice remote, and the fact that I can get Xfinity wireless almost anywhere.
