Had a Habanero Sculpin by Ballast Point Brewery out of San Diego at the Red Baron here in Flint. An IPA with some heat at the end for sure. Not overly hoppy but just enough. Tasted great with a Steak Wrap Sandwich!

Guys I was really looking forward to trying Mango Magnifico from Founders. Man I was very disappointed. As much as I like Founders other beers, this combination just left a bad taste in my mouth. I was hoping with every swallow it would get better, it didn't. The only good news, is I finished the bottle. Because you can't pour beer down the drain, no matter how much you dislike it.

I will be damned be I try any of their other Voodoo Doughnut flavors. Rogue's best beer is their Dead Guy Ale, that one I highly recommend.

I think that's like asking jhommy if he's tried Oberon.

I hear Sam Adams is a good microbrewery.

I hear Sam Adams is a good microbrewery. Where is that available? Is it limited to Michigan or the Midwest area? I may have to see if I can order it online. If someone is interested, maybe we can trade out a sixer of Sam Adams for one of our regional beers-like Coors or Lonestar.

Am I not hip if I like Sam Adams?
Being a cool beer drinker is hard nowadays. It either had to be a completely obscure micro brewery of its got to be an hipsterish throw back like Bud diesel or PBR...

I'm off the mass produced Bud/Miller/Coors in favor of things with more flavor but everyone has different tastes. Drink what you like and WGAF. (And I've been known to pop a top on a Sam Adams now and then.) My favorite is still Shiner, which is nowhere near a microbrew, but not not an InBev creature, either. Ruby Redbird is one of my favorites.

I like Sam Adams Rebel IPA. I'm sick of beers like Two Hearted. Almost every bar has that on tap now.

I wonder if Tommyz has tried two hearted? I always think of him when I'm going through a car wash. He had a distain for Dodge trucks if I recall correctly.

When I was in Niagra Falls on the Canadian side a couple of years ago I went into the beer store and the guy was trying to sell me some Bud Light. I told him I don't even drink that garbage at home and that I was there for the good stuff. He recommended a few to me and you could actually buy individual pint cans to try them out. I got about six different ones he was suggesting but I only really liked two of them. I can't remember what one of them was but the second was Sleiman's Draught. I really liked it but so far they don't sell it on this side of the border and the only way to get it is to go there.

Pollux, Love all Sleeman's beer that I have tried. Their cream ale is pretty smooth, you might like that. Did you try any of Alexander Keith's beer? They are from Nova Scotia, all pretty good tasting beer. All you hop fans should love it, Keith's has a hop series, with 3 different kinds.
Have any of you tried Longboard Island Lager, Big Wave Golden Ale, Castaway IPA, or Fire Rock Pale Ale, from Kona? Those are good beers. I got the variety pack on vacation, it was a good choice.

I haven't read every page, so this may have been asked...
Any Untappd users here? We can share usernames to add each other's latest beer exploits.
I'm slowly creeping my way up to number 700. I just got back from the UP and hit up Tahquamenon Falls brewery (yes, they have a brewery at the falls) again. Long drive for some beers ;)

Definitely an interesting app for sure. Only been a craft beer drinker going on 2 years now. Much catching up to do! Was at the World Expo of Beer this past weekend sampling a few new things. Going to a Sour, Wild & Funk Festival in Indianapolis first weekend in June.

I'm not a sour fan. I've tried 4 or 5 times. Just can't do it.

No. I don't remember the other beers I sampled while I was there but I'm pretty sure Keith's wasn't one of them. It doesn't ring any bells. I did go as far as to contact Sleeman's to see if they'd ship me some but they told me I was out of luck.
