I seriously can't believe we would have made playoffs if it weren't for a screw job and our coach being a moron Or a batted ball out of the end zone called properly. Bill Belichick gave the Jets the first possession in OT last week, and the Jets went down an scored a TD to win. On the radio they were saying another time Belichick went for it on 4th and long on his own 20 yard line, and caused his team to lose. Coaches make mistakes, even the geniuses.

Had we won the bat game and the hail mary, we'd be the 5th seed playing kirk cousins next week..

He didn't call it though. It's on him, but our upstart DC did. 95% of Lion fans think he called that play which is comical. Caldwell took the heat for it by not throwing his DC under the bus for it.

Per RapSheet, the Lions requested to interview Cowboys assistant director of Player Personnel Will McClay for GM, source said. But he's decided to stay put.

Dery threw out Chris Polian on twitter as a guess. That's the one person I don't want.

I'd be surprised if Austin came back to this shit show next year. I think he's gone.

It's funny to me that with all the local drew Sharpe style bashing that eruff does, Caldwell is the one guy he hitches his wagon to

IF we would have gotten those two victories the pressure would have been to much for the Leo's down the stretch. Would have found a way to lose another game to block their playoff bid!

I think Calvin stays, but I would hope they can get a 2nd round pick for him. I have seen and heard that the Lions will end up with $30 Million in Cap space at the end of the season. I have 2 targets in FA. 1 is Cordy Glenn, and if he doesn't hit the market, Alex Mack. Players I think should be gone after this year without consideration of bringing them back: Tulloch, Ihedigbo, and Mathis on the defense. I think that Whitehead can take over in the middle. I would try and find a veteran 3rd or 4th CB in FA cheap. With Slay as the 1, you should get your 2nd and 3rd CB out of Lawson, Diggs, and Carter. On offense, I would let go of Joique Bell and Pettigrew. I have always liked Pettigrew, but the tear of the ACL may end his career. To replace him I would bring back Bear Pascoe on the cheap. It looks like TJ Jones is on the upswing, and he could be a nice little find. Ameer and Riddick are a nice combo out of the backfield, and Zenner looks like he could fill Bell's limited role. This team needs to find a LT and kick Reiff over to the right side. For GM I really like Omar Kahn from Pittsburgh. The only downside to him is that he has no scouting in his background. Xanders will be gone, apparently he has been the person that has been the biggest leak of information. I like Eric DeCosta out of Baltimore, and Duke Tobin would be a great hire. I am also curious to see if Pioli gets another look. We have talked about coaches before, and I like Hue Jackson. I think Stafford is here until the end of his contract. Something interesting that Mike O'Hara recently said. The Lions team is galvanized behind Caldwell more than any coach he has seen since Wayne Fontes. Say what you want about his coaching ability (it is terrible and I think he should be fired) but there is something to be said about the fact that the players really like playing for the guy. My problem is that Teryl Austin will probably get a job next year as a Head Coach. If the new GM is intent on keeping this staff together (not my first option), I would elevate Austin to HC and let Caldwell go. Glenn is the guy I want. It will be interesting to see what Buffalo does but I'd be stunned if they don't find some way to lock up one of the most consistent LT's in the game. George Iloka is another guy I love at SS but this will all depend on the money and what The Lions can spend. Khan is also the guy I mentioned early on when Mayhew was first fired. I never see his name brought up but he is a cap guru and you would hope that there would be a new scouting staff to help with draft evaluations. That's assuming things are done right which is usually not the case with The Lions. Right now it honestly will not shock me if they keep White and this entire coaching staff. I hate the thought of it but it would be typical Lions. This probably has a lot to do with Caldwell which is so ass backwards.

I bet they keep Caldwell and replace white That would be a new level of ridiculousness, even for The Lions.

I bet they keep Caldwell and replace white That would be a new level of ridiculousness, even for The Lions. No it wouldn't. This is exactly what happened in Carolina in 2013, when ownership fired GM Marty Hurney during the middle of their season. I do not see it as unusual, that a new GM would want to give it a year to evaluate the entire organization.

I am in the Caldwell stays camp. Not that I necessarily want that to happen. It has a Wayne Fontes feeling to it.

Treadwell won't be there. My money is on Ragland out of Alabama. 16 is the perfect spot to get a playmaking LB.
