I'm pretty sure most of my friends that played high school football don't follow our high school team 20 years removed from living in Rochester Hills/going to the school. I think there's a move on factor when you go to college. At the game last week I would say there was a significant portion of the towns population at the game. It was packed. I think it's more of a community thing, and Northville is still small town USA. Add in the fact that they had never been 10-0 and hosting a district final and there was a lot of interest in the game. Besides what else is there to do at 7 pm on a Friday. Also it's football.... IMO it is more strange to think others are strange for taking pride in their community than it is to attend a football game. Also, I bet most of your friends that played high school football do keep tabs on their team. I don't talk to that many people from high school but during Northville's little run I caught back up with numerous people who I hadn't talked to in years but were interested in getting together to watch the old team.

Edit to the players following their team. If someone lives out of state they probably don't follow their old school. If someone warmed the bench. They probably don't follow their own school.
It also appeared to me that there were a bunch of people who live in the community but may not have attended school there at the games. As well as parents who's kids attend the school (or even the school district) but don't play football.
There were tons of sexy mommies at tom holzer ford field mustang stadium at Hillside middle school last week.
I just thought it was totally a flem comment to make.
How dare anyone enjoy something in their town!!!!
Also for places like Canton or Southfield or Troy I can understand that there wouldn't be much pride in local athletics. They have IKEA and whatnot to be proud of.

Yea, I dunno. They never mention it to me I guess. But almost all my HS friends don't live in the Hills anymore. I totally don't have issue with Philly creeping the cheerleaders. I just never hear of anyone in my peer set going to HS games. Maybe we aren't good normally, I wouldn't know because I'm Highlanders free.

You're right, I don't have any community pride. I didn't grow up in troy and don't really care at all how their high school sports perform. Maybe when all my kids are in school here, but right now I don't care. I haven't lived in novi for fourteen yearsand don't care about their sports either. High school sports do nothing for me.. again, that probably changes if my kids play them.

It's rich a lions season ticket holder telling people how they spend their time is a waste

This board is seriously turning into a bunch of women. I never said that. I just don't care about high school sports in any way shape or form and don't understand why people would. To each their own, but it does nothing for me

To each their own, but it does nothing for me You don't understand why people would like watching high school football... Yet you are a lions season ticket holder It's irony. The product at most high school games is likely better than what the pathetic lions put out there. How do you not understand that. I mean I know you are a loathsome cunt but I didn't think you were a moron as well. It isn't that hard

Damn- just saw my high school was ranked #2 in the state in Class C and then lost OT in the first round to a team they beat 42-22 in the regular season. Ouch.

I wouldn't actually go to a high school game unless there was a freak prospect locally or something. But I do think it's fun to watch the playoffs when they make it to tv and my interest does perk up if my school is good.

Because I have zero ties to any high school football team. Most of you are lions fans, most of this area is. The nfl is the best product on the field from a football perspective. If you don't have kids that go to a high school, I don't get the tie in. I'm clearly not the only one on here who feels that way. It seems completely odd to me to randomly show up at a troy Athens football game when I literally have no tie to it other than living in troy

The end of that game was amazing. 97.5 yards in thirty seven seconds with no timeouts in a high school game

I watched some of that game, and figured Lowell had it wrapped up! Maybe it's the field?
