Gentlemen I am offering you all a solution to your Lions addiction. I say addiction because you guys put yourselves in harms way by watching these losers. Become Lions Free, as I have. I became Lions Free in 2008, when WCF's boys went 0 & 16, the year that will live in infamy. Free yourselves from this wretched organization and become a happier person in the process. I am not saying do not watch the NFL, just stop watching the Motown morons. You will thank me for this intervention. Just give this team the double finger solute and really start enjoying Sundays again.

I decided last season that I wasn't going to let the Lions or Michigan affect my entire week. It was getting to the point where I was so pissed off aafter loss that I was then pissed off at my family. I think most fans are like this. It's difficult to get out of that rut. The Spartan Troll is near 60 years old and he wants to die if MSU loses in football or basketball. Watching him is most likely the reason I decided to make changes. That's why I said I was on the verge of skipping football after we moved.
Some 20 year old kid is not going to affect my day to day life. I may have seen a total of 15 minutes of Lions football this year. If my kids want to watch Teen Titans at 2PM on a Sunday, I have no problem with it.

You caught a few minutes of a game and check the scores. That's not Lions free you just don't let it get to you. UltimateM had to have been reading our posts and frustrations and probably checks the scores. He felt so strongly about it thT he started this thread.

This is a fresh take, I like it!
Signed,
The Wings need to get an enforcer like McCarty or Probert

I used to think i was lions free but i still listen and watch. But i dont care if they lose or win. If they win thats great. But if they lose i enjoy it as much, if not more than a win. Its more fun to root against them actually. And then rub it in to the fans that get so upset.
I remember being so upset that when they lost i would break shit. Not anymore. But i did get a lot of enjoyment out of those couple games where they looked like shit earlier this year.

I was excited for the start of the season and I really wanted to beat Seattle. I still watch because its fun to eat and hang out with friends but now that they are dead again the losses dont hurt

When you live in the city where the team plays and still watch the NFL, you will never be totally free of them. What I am talking about, is not watch them when they are on TV. Go do something else, besides getting frustrated by a team that annually disappoints. Yes will see the updates and a family or friend will talk about them. BUT trust me when I say you all will feel better by not watching. Now the hardest day to do this is of course is Thanksgiving. You will have to adapt your strategy and plan accordingly. Good luck to all.

It's tough to be Lions free, but I certainly don't care as much anymore. My kids played fall baseball on Sundays, going in I was concerned about missing the Lions. I'm so happy we signed them up, I don't have any regrets!
Do what you love on Sundays. Take a radio, keep one eye on the game, but never devote your day to the Lions. You'll be glad you did.

Don't watch the games every week. Pretty apathetic about them. Not lions free, but it's never really been a big part of my life.

it's mostly annoying watching, but once in a while things like those shots of ross/mariucci/morninwheg/marinelli/schwartz/caldwell staring out at the field wide-eyed like they just accidentally shit themselves make up for it.

I still consider myself a fan, I just cannot get invested in this team anymore. I hope they do well, I follow them, but I just let go and don't care after a certain point. Unfortunately, this point came around the 4th quarter in game #1!

Unfortunately, this point came around the 4th quarter in game #1! This is about where I'm at. Besides, Saturday is my true investment day. Keep an eye/ear on the scoreboard but unless I have total down time on Sunday I'm not hunkering down to view in it's entirety.

I'm Lions free in the sense that I don't give a fuck about if they win or lose and I don't get upset when they lay a hot pile of shit like yesterday or like they have all season.
I thank God every Sunday that NFL Redzone exists so I don't have to watch the Lions every week.
But Lions free forever like some claim, no! I'll be back next year expecting better........Well, maybe not next year but say 2 years from now.
