Thoughts and prayers with the Daniels family.
James Jahnke , Detroit Free Press 9:19 p.m. EST December 8, 2016
Jamie Daniels, son of Detroit Red Wings television play-by-play broadcaster Ken Daniels, died in his sleep Wednesday morning, the team announced today. He was 23.
Jamie Daniels spent time as a manager for the Michigan State hockey team while in school.
"Both the Red Wings organization and Fox Sports Detroit would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to the Daniels family during this most difficult time," the team said in a released statement.

The smoke & mirror show has put 6 W's on the board in a row. Nice to come out of the box hot! Nice to see Howard look impressive early too. May actually be able to get some value for him later. Groin must be toast. So much for any trade value..........
"Say Goodbye to the Joe?" We need to Say Goodbye to 75% of this team.....

This team cant catch a break this year but its hard to argue Ted Lindsays advice to make the team better "Find some hockey players."

Is this rock bottom for the Wings?

Is this rock bottom for the Wings? Last night sure did seem like it. Totally dominated by a rookie infested Babcock led Maple Sap team. It almost seems like a fluke ANY time Wings score a goal. Its inevitable that they will turn the puck over in their own zone once or twice before they ACTUALLY do get it out, that is if the puck doesn't end up in the back of their net. Power Play is THE joke of the league. Are any of the Wings defensemen anything better than a number 4 for ANY playoff caliber team? Are we already at our "Dave Lewis" moment as far as our Coaching rope length given to Jeff Blashill? Obviously Wings don't have the talent we had back then, but is there a stronger candidate out there to get MORE from the players the Wings do have? Sucks there are no big time prospects out there this year for Wings to snatch up.

Nevermind... googled it. That blows Hopefully they don't start a negative streak now, of not making the playoffs. This roster is horrible, it is full of broken down overpaid veterans. They have a handful of quality younger players & 2 goaltenders that are streaky. A front office that is looking lost & maybe the new ownership (the son) might not be as committed to a winner as the old. Not a recipe for success.

I have been sadistically hoping for this streak to end. I feel that the only way this team can get better, is to lose and have some change over in the front office. Ken Holland needs to go.
Even with them missing the playoffs, so many of those contracts are bad. It will take a long time for them to purge and recover.
