Ah, T Fos's blogspot. Full of misspelling and nonsense.
Who else was an original that's still here? Was Hoff there at the beginning?

The blogspot was older. I think SI's forums were born out of the comment sections on that blogspot basically.

I lurked for a while and posted once. Someone said I should post more, so I did. Boy that person didn't realize what they were requesting.

I must have joined sometime between 2006-2007. Before that I used to go on MLive forums. Anyone remember those?

I thought Valenti originally owned the Sports Inferno. I didn't realize that TFos was tied into it.

I thought it grew out of something from Valenti's radio show in East Lansing.

Sports Inferno was the name of their show when they first went on 97.1 middays. I don't know anything about it before that.

I *think* the T Fos blogspot came out of him getting a reduced role at the News. Something like that. And their show was called The Sports Inferno with Mike Valenti and Terry Foster. That part i'm pretty confident in. They'd discuss dumb stuff from Terry's blog and people would leave funny comments or get into fights (TRRW and Rick are the two I most remember) in the comments.
There may have been another sportsinferno.com that was related to his old show in EL. Now that you say that it sounds right. But the first version of the SI.com that Raj is talking about evolved out of the T Fos blog comments.

I have a meeting in Pontiac on Friday at like 3:00. I haven't decided if I'm going to take telegraph home or take Woodward and bask in the WT glow on the way home.

But the first version of the SI.com that Raj is talking about evolved out of the T Fos blog comments. yup.. IF I remember the history correctly, I think it was something like Mike had his show in EL, and he had some sort of a web presence there (platinum callers was related to that somehow). Then when the detroit show (with Terry) started, the terryfoster.blogspot.com stuff started... I think at first it was just Terry trying to write somewhere (I think either the News dumped him off pistons beat or killed his column or something), and while nobody cared too much about what Terry had to say it was the only "accessible" way to interact with the SI radio show (through Terry only).. Based of that "popularity?" then Mike got si.com going (At least the detroit version going). I'm sure some of the SI originals (ScottyY, Spartysteve, spartynick, rff, Keith (the original webmaster), etc) would know more...

I think they did take his column away and so he started a blog. Mike really saved that guys career.
