I have no doubt in my mind that Mariota will be a bust. I think Winston has all the physical tools to be an elite NFL QB, but I have serious questions about his ability to handle failure and accept responsibility for his mistakes. Seems kind of silly to project who the Lions might get at this point, but anything other than a defensive or offensive lineman will be shocking. So it'll probably be a safety or something. Right. They'll probably grab a first round fullback.

If Todd Gurley is there at 23, I run that card to the podium with his name on it.

He had the ACL tear when he came back from the BS NCAA suspension, and in 2013 he missed 3 games with an ankle. You know who else was injured a LOT in college too? Adrian Peterson. Watch, it 2-3 years this kid will be one of the best backs in the NFL.

Watch, it 2-3 years this kid will be one of the best backs in the NFL. So you are comparing this guy to AP? Bold. Unfortunately at running back, people who have a history of injuries in college are far more likely to bust out then they are to be AP. AP is an outlier and probably one of only a handful of exceptions that could be named. Sorry, we've had our fair share of injury prone busts that we took chances on... I'll pass

And that right there, is why the Browns continually suck!

Going just by the trade chart, it's a steal of the Browns pulled it off.
#2: 2600 For #12: 1200 #19: 875
The 525 difference lands between picks 38 & 39 overall.

If I am Tennessee I am telling the Browns that they have to give up a 1 next year as well.

Winston has the tools to be in the same conversation as Luck. The Qb has been watered down in the previous draft with the spread being so popular in college football. The rest of the draft class can be great IMO. The amount of talent that will be available in the front seven is what driving this class to be a good one. Hmm, I don't see it with Winston. I think that Bryce Petty and Brett Hundley stay in the NFL, longer than Winston and Mariotta. Bryce Petty, Baylor"Overall, the more I watched Petty the less I liked him as an NFL starter. His almost alarming lack of accuracy was very troubling. Much of it was likely resulting from his poor footwork and balance – can that be fixed? That's a big "maybe." There are a lot of questions that are hard to answer as he transitions from Baylor's spread offense to the NFL. He has almost no understanding of protections, because that was not part of his responsibility in the Baylor offense. He has not been taught the pass game based on three-step/five-step/seven-step drop concepts. He will be starting from scratch with that in the NFL There should be a big question of how he functions in the pocket with bodies around him; that’s a definite concern as he transitions to the NFL. He is not a progression reader and will need to be taught that in the NFL. That's a process that takes time. Petty must learn how to move his feet with his eyes when he comes off primary read, he did not stride to the throw and was not always closed to the target – the result will be too many balls thrown with poor balance. There is a defined quarterback skill set to work with, but Petty needs to be coached and given time to assimilate new concepts and techniques. He has a compact delivery with the ability to trigger quickly, there's good ball position and balance in the pocket, and he has light feet and deceptive mobility and movement. But Petty was very much a one-read quarterback based on Baylor offense. There will be a significant mental learning curve to play in an NFL offense. The game he played at Baylor and the skills required to play it don’t tell us much about how he’ll transition to the NFL."

Just for the hell of it
Let's say Gurley is on the board at 23 and he's falling because there are a run on QB's and other teams just decide they have other spots to fill of bigger need, if your the Lions what are you asking for in trade for that pick?
I realize we'd all take Gurley, but let's have some fun on draft day.

I'm not sold on that chart (Isn't that chart based off something that Jimmy Johnson created 25 years ago?) C. The Browns have drafted a QB #1 in 2 of the last 3 drafts!

The chart if anything is too conservative now. Higher picks worth more with the wage scale in place. My point was, the Browns offer is too low by any stretch if the imagination.

I want Mariotta on the Eagles. Not sure if it will work, but I'm want to see if it does.

So here is rumor going around Yahoo Sports:
The most common rumors have had the Eagles shipping Bradford to the Browns, using the first-round pick they'd get in that deal (the most shocking part of any of this is that in one offseason two different NFL teams would trade valuable picks for Bradford, he of the two torn ACLs and the 79.3 career rating), and then send picks and players to the Tennessee Titans for the second pick. Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and linebacker Mychal Kendricks have been speculated as trade chips. The final price tag would be enormous, mortgaging the franchise of the future as some might say, but nobody seems willing to say that possible trade is dead.

The only proof there is of anything otherwise is Chip saying he wouldn't do it. If you could ever believe that. I think that's too much to give up for Bradford at this point especially since he hasn't shown much of anything in the small time he wasn't injured.

I've heard talk of Peat being a beast in his own right and that he would then play left tackle letting Rieff go back to the right side. That would be a strong young core with Warford and Swanson at center. Then you grab a good guard in the later rounds.

Forgot to cover the only true guarantee about the Lions pick, there'll be at least 6 minutes left on the clock when they turn in their card in the first round.
