The school likes having a clean average program. They dont truly care about winning True, running a clean program does come first, and rightly so. Being in trouble does proportionally more harm here than it does in places with better weather, better nightlife etc. Most big time ball recruits don't give a damn about the school - just where they'll be in the NBA draft and how soon. They care about winning too - but not at any cost. It appears that just maybe the Ed Martin thing was important and they haven't forgotten it?

I am not saying they need to cheat but I think they have settled with Beilein and he has proven to be a very average recruiter with a style that doesnt work well consistantly

Its a shame that Beilien wasn't able to recruit better coming off of a final four.

McGary has wasted his career, both collegiate and professional. All for the ganja.

Time for Irvin to start shooting from just inside the arc. Guy is worthless.

Time for Irvin to start shooting from just inside the arc. Guy is worthless. Him graduating will be addition by subtraction. It's amazing that he hasn't progressed at all. Still below average ball handling, still below average from 3, still bad at making his own shot. There was a stretch where beetlejuice had 4 turnovers in a row... he may have had more TO than points. I haven't checked he box score. For a PG, he doesn't ever seem to beat his man off the dribble. Solid win, but I can't help but be disappointed that this team isn't better. They'll get trucked in B1G Play. At least when Disco Stu and Novak were here, we could win a game we shouldn't when someone got hot from 3.

7 points, 5 TO, 2 assist... you're not going win games when this is your PG

Duncans dropped off a lot this year too. Hoped he'd have added a dimension to his game like Stauskas over the summer His mins dropped from 28 to 19 this year

Under Beilein if a player has any talent he gtfo as soon as possible whether ready or not. Players that stay don't get better or get worse or transfer.

Anyone with a half a brain could see the direction the program was going two years ago. It's just going to get worse.

It is amazing to see this team get out Belined by other teams. Our offense and three-point shooting is supposed to be our strength and yet everybody does it better than us

His system works when he's up against inferior coaches or his team is loaded with NBA talent. Neither is happening right now and there's no indication that it will ever happen again. He's gotta go.

Also as I thought about this, I think Derek Walton is the worst point guard he's had since the disco Stu and Zack Novak days. And a year when Derek Walton should be averaging five or six assists per game, he's actually having a worst year that he did an injury plagued year last year. Every year he has had an NBA player on his roster. I don't think he has one this year.

They were responsible for putting together the current group. They missed on all of their big targets.
