I hate my mortgage company. Still no 1098. Their website has me locked out and customer service won't answer the line.

I don't know exactly what it is or if it changes based on your tax bracket. We don't ever have enough so it's usually the standard deduction.

I remember it being a rediculous threshold.

I remember it being a rediculous threshold. I've been using Turbo Tax and in previous years I thought it was a number less than 10K. Around 8 or 9. I could be wrong.

I think the threshold is over 10% of your AGI.

I think the threshold is over 10% of your AGI. Sounds typical that it's a sliding scale.

You can deduct your expenses over a floor which is 7.5% of your income.

You can deduct your expenses over a floor which is 7.5% of your income. 10% if you are under 65. Good luck with that!

Finally had time to start doing my taxes. One of the companies that services my student loans went out of business and I have no way of getting a 1098E from them. I am hoping that my wife paid enough in interest to get us up to the $2500 limit, otherwise I am out a about 20 bucks.
