Staying at some place called the Beachview Inn. probably not great but we are not picky. Never actually stayed there... But it's perfectly centrally located and right by Crabby Bills and Frenchies south. Both great spots for food That is what i was going for. The other place we were considering was this Pier 60 place which looks pretty nice but a higher price tag comes along with that. Walking the strip and popping in to all the bars should accomplish what we are looking for. Then do a little time on the beach/pool. The rest of the week with Gramps we are going to the dog races and checking out a DDD Cuban restaurant called Jose's in Bradenton. Then tons of shuffleboard.

Clearwater beach is awesome.. When we went there we stayed at the sandpearl...Usually way to expensive for my taste, but at the time we got it for $150 for a night...Nice little strip right there with a couple decent bars and a nice cigar shop...Frenchies is really good, but can be expensive...

So I booked my trip today. We're staying in Tampa, and going to the Tigers games at least 1 day. My wife wants to go to the beach at least one day, and go to that aquarium there at least one day. I need beach ideas, where's the best place to go? I wanna be on the ocean, not the bay.
Also, the Tigers play the Yankees one game while we are there. It's at the Yankees stadium. How unfriendly are the Yankees fans down there?

How unfriendly are the Yankees fans down there? Hilarious... I will be at this game. I will be on the lookout for a guy double fisting hot dogs now. As for the fans- it's spring training and its florida. Half the fans at the games are tourists or locals with no affiliation to either team. The atmosphere is great and that stadium has a great atmosphere for night games. As for beach things to do... Depends if you want a beach with tons of activities and things to do... Or a beach that is quite and relaxing

I want a quiet beach with lots of nude womens, I usually only eat 4 hotdogs at the ball park, and I'm thinking about doing that yankees game. Their spring training park looks pretty nice. Was thinking about going to Honemoon Island park for the beach.

Honeymoon and Caladesi are the right beaches for you then. You take a ferry over to Caladesi (it's an island) from Honeymoon. There's nothing over there but sand. Beautiful though. Honeymoon at least has gazebo's with small bar and grills in them.

Is there somewhere I can go to rent a bike while I'm at the beach?

IF you stay at the Atlantis. pro-tip- don't stay there. You can stay around paradise and rent someone's time share and get a 2 bedroom condo for 1/3rd the price and then but day passes to the Atlantis pool.

I can get 2 of the 4 nights free with points but it's still expensive. Having a condo would be nice.

Yeah, I tried using Marriott points too when we considered it a couple months ago for our summer vaca... But unfortunately the larger suites that we would need were blocked on points. There was no way I was going to actually pay that much for it. I used to own a time share right next door and people rent out 2/3 bedroom options with full kitchens for $1500-$3k per week. I was going to go that route but opted to do the Keyes instead.
Check out the VRBO sites- those are pretty good

A facebook friend of mine who is a crazy Star Wars nut is taking a 10 day vacation to go to some Star Wars convention thingy. She is very excited about it. That's not a vacation to me, I can't think of anything more boring or lame. Whatever makes her happy, I guess.

I don't know, but she's about 2 times the size of Carrie Fischer in that movie. She'd be a better Jabba the Hut.

Deciding between Sandals Ocho Rios or Whitehouse in Jamaica and the Royal in Riviera Maya for an October trip. Sandals is only a few hundred more so I'm leaning towards that.

Just rented an unairconditioned cabin on Lake Michigan in Holland for a week in July. We had limited options because the wife wants to bring the dog. Definitely could be a disaster if it's a hot week.

And/or if it is a legit cabin with lots of shade on a wooded lot.
I've been watching a lot of Lake Front Bargain Hunters on HGTV/DIY... And now that I'm understanding how prevalent the VRBO market is... I'm starting to become more interested in buying a "incomes property somewhere on a lake near Lake Michigan- up and around Traverse City or Charlevoix, or something on the water with a doc in either St Pete Beach, Siesta Key or Cape Coral.
Just seems like a no brainer. If you could rent one for 30 weeks a year, you could cover your mortgage and still have plenty of time to use it for yourself.
The trick is maximizing the amenities to ensure it is first to rent.

I'd like to do that also in a few years. Unfortunately the prices on Lake Michigan have almost totally rebounded from the down years. There were huge bargains 5 or 6 years ago. There are still deals on the east coast of MI but I don't really like that side.
