When taken #1 overall there was no Andrew Luck available. Would you rather have Sanchez? If you traded him who would be your QB? I was against the Stafford pick but he's serviceable. He has a lot of arrant throws and flat out throws behind guys but he also needs a lot of help that he isn't getting from the offensive line, running game, and his receivers in the way of drops. You have one of three QBs in NFL history that has thrown for 5000 yards. Play calling has a lot to do with this as well. I'm not sucking on his balls. He missed a read to a wide open Bush for probably 6 while trying to force the ball to Calvin on a slant. He also missed a wide open Tate on the 4th and 10 when he mooned the ball. What's your answer? The NFL has a lot of journeymen dumpster fires out there.

this is my thought after today... I disagree with that comparison. Jay Cutler=Jeff George. Cutler is a turnover machine. Fumbles and interceptions. Though last year was awful for Stafford with turnovers he protected the ball pretty well this year except for last week. Many national analysts said those picks weren't on him.

Hell, bring someone in who will test him in a QB competition, rather than sucking on his balls because he's your franchise QB.

Caldwell to some extent has to be accountable for that too. Maybe it's the QB coach? Maybe he can't or won't be fixed. Protecting the football was better but we don't have several years to work out the kinks. It's go time.

You have to try to fix him at this point. His contract demands it. They're stuck with him until his contract allows otherwise.
If he makes the throws today's that he's paid to, that offensive line looks a whole lot better. They aren't put into those long down and distance circumstances.
At least this staff has gotten him to cut down on the turnovers. That's a start. But as evidenced by today, there's a long way to go.

But straight up, let's say any mid teir team out there wanted to trade for Staffdong , who would you take. Let's remove Luck, Manning, Brady and Brees. Let's also remove shit fires like Manziel and kaep(boy has he regressed, makes Matt look like a great QB). I'd trade right now for Bridgewater, Cam, RG3, and Carr(imagine if he had a real #1 wr and a Rb not passed his prime).

Superman has been more Clark Kent this year, RGIII is not the same player post injuries, Minny isn't trading in division, and Carr wasn't that great even when Murray started. It's probably better to stay away from a Carr anyway.

If the Lions go 1 and done in the playoffs, next year could be the Make or break year for Stafford. After next year it is 10 Million against the Cap to cut him, and that can be spread out over 2 seasons.

Ehhhh Rivers is not in the stratosphere of those. IMHO
Big Ben is on the edge but the Steelers wouldn't pull the trade unless they knew they could fix him and get 15 more years from a QB.
Personally there are few QBs I'd trade for right now because age is a huge deal.
Untouchables Peyton, Brady, Luck, Rodgers, Brees and I'll give you Big Ben.
Hot garbage I'd tell to go fuck off: Cutler, Manziel, Eli, Bortles, mcCown, Bradford, Dalton, Flacco, metzenberger, Romo, Kaep, Orton, Smith,

It's pointless in the end because no one would trade and even of they did I have little confidence the team gets the new QB right. IMHO stafford is Romo v2.0, lots of stats but no hardware to show for it.

Stafford isn't big into hyping himself.

Eli > Stafford.Romo > Stafford Only if your only reference is championships. Not that that's not a good enough reason but Eli is awful.

Makes you wonder how he commands a huddle but from everything I've seen and heard he's a quiet humble guy. Not your usual archetype for a franchise QB.

Eli's first year with a real QB coach produced his best year Completion % wise and lowest number of Ints since 2008. This year he threw for 4400 yards, 30 TDs and 14 Ints. Plus the 2 rings don't hurt
