Are we not making new threads anymore and just going to consolidate? Honest question. I figured something like this deserved it's own thread and didn't even notice your post in the other one.

I'm just fucking with you. I like new threads too, as a way to be able to find stuff quickly, but people were complaining that we should just have one giant thread for each sport. I am a multi thread fan

So what happens if another team signs him to a contract? Can the pistons reduce what they owe him by that contract? Does that have any impact on the pistons cap hit?

So he gets his full contract plus whatever the next team pays him? That's fucking crazy. I understand not getting cap relief.

Only if he is claimed by another team. Otherwise they are on the hook for the whole deal True if he is claimed on waivers, the Pistons are off the hook. .000000000000001% chance of that happening though. I don't think a team even has that much cap space to do it if they wanted to.

Let's get that firmly established. However, he was 2nd in scoring, 3rd in rebounding, 2nd in assists, 1st in stls and 2nd in blks on the team.

I can't imagine the Pistons did this without exhausting every potential option out there. I am going to guess he was being a lockerroom cancer or this is being done to send a message of some sort. (Ie- don't play well and we will cut you and pay your whole salary to sit at home). I'm gonna guess though the message it sends to other franchises is louder though- that Josh is so difficult that the Pistons would rather pay him to stay home. I can't imagine too many teams jump on this

When has one player's numbers equated to wins? When he was putting up massive numbers they were not winning. The Bulls didn't win until he got better teammates. MJ would not win with this current Piston squad.
