If they can't get the guy they want this year, I would almost rather wait one more year and let Nuss play an interim role for a year like the Buckeyes did with Fickle. They could have rushed and got someone else- instead they waited and got their boy. I hope michigan follows suit.

I don't think any NFL teams care much about college teams. I think San Fran would much rather keep him away from Oakland than Michigan Pollux is the worst poster ever. A 62 year old robdiddy. This could work to San Francisco advantage. I've heard rumors that Hackett has directly contacted the 49ers front office. The deal I've heard, is that UM/donor would eat all or some of the buyout from Harbaughs contract. Harbaugh can nix any trade, so that's not happening. The last thing SF wants is Harbaugh coaching across the bay in Oakland. So SF and UM could come to some mutually beneficial agreement. All of this of course is predicated on Jimmy wanting to go to UM.

Yeah, I'm seeing it too. They really have nothing to lose, and will probably make some excuse if it doesn't happen.

I kinda feel bad for Nuss. He had a lot of success and was given a big check to bring it here, but got stuck being a side show in headsets circus for only one year... And with a mental imp as a quarterback.

If Harbaugh doesn't come, remember this moment as the peak of optimism, when a few overly excitable folks whipped themselves into a frenzy by repeating rumors to one another. If he does come? Sweet.

Sweet. lol, right with ya. I am not buying anything on the net and from the "insiders". I remember when we landed RR, it was out of the blue and no one on the inside had it until the meeting took place.

I think 2 or 3 people know what's going on and they don't tell anyone anything.
It's like some people think that Hackett sends out a daily email update to all former football players, large donors, etc.

It's like some people think that Hackett sends out a daily email update to all former football players, large donors, etc. I think there are a lot more people who know what's going on with the job search, but I still don't think anyone knows what Harbaugh wants to do, including Harbaugh. The rumored deal from Michigan is pretty nice, but in two weeks he could be offered any number of NFL jobs with full control. Two more weeks of waiting.

I just want this frenzy that stirred up last night to go away. I'm worried Michigan fans are going to jump the HARBAUGH shark and it's not going to happen... ala the Herbstreit/Miles fiasco in '07.
