Van Gundy probably won't be coach of the year, but he should be executive of the year. Dropping Smith has been the most positively impactful move by this organization since they traded for Sheed.

Stones rumored to be interested in bringing in Iso Joe for a package of Jennings and some expiring contracts I was wondering how the hell they were supposed to offset that $23-million albatross of a contract. Looks like it would have to be like Jennings, Jerebko, Butler, and Datomi for Johnson. That seems like a really bad idea, unless they just want to kick the can down the road for another year and have lots of cap space for the 2016 free agent class...but who is in that class aside from Durant? I've also seen that Reggie Jackson and Goran Dragic are on the market now. Dragic would appear to be the better fit for the Pistons, but I don't know if they have anything the Suns would want (anything they'd part with, at least).

Interesting. He's not much of an outside shooter though.

Sounds like the Stones just gave up Singler? If that's true I love the deal.

Chaos everywhere! Brandon Knight traded to the Suns, Goran Dragic traded to the Heat, MCW traded to the Bucks, Isaiah Thomas traded to the Celtics...

I'm surprised they gave up Augustin. Seemed like a true SVG guy who was stepping up with Jennings out. Have to look at the contracts...

OK, so Jackson is a clear rental based on his unrealistic dreams of his next contract: Please, for the love of pasta tell me that TayTay is on his last year of his deal... Prince IS on the last year of his deal, though so were Datomi and Jerebko, so I'm not entirely sure what that deal accomplished. As far as Jackson goes...he does seem to have unrealistic salary expectations, but as a starter in his career he has averaged 16 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds...although this year, in 13 starts he put up 20, 8, and 5. No one in the NBA averages those numbers this year, and only 9 guys this year equal or better his career numbers as a starter. He does demand the ball, and he isn't a great shooter so I can't imagine how it will work when Jennings is back, but Jackson will probably put up some gaudy numbers here. And he's a restricted free agent, so the Pistons have him for at least one more season if they really want him.

Sounds like the Prince deal just opened up a roster spot, nothing more. Losing Jerebko for the rest of the season and enduring Prince might just be the necessary payment for jettisoning Datome forever. Not thrilled about the Prince-Butler platoon at SF. Can Tolliver play some minutes at the 3?
I can't see Jennings and Jackson coexisting. For now, I'm hoping that Jackson is just sign-and-trade bait.

I have no idea how the Pistons win theses games. Stan must know what he's doing.

The team looks like it will be at least fun to watch with Jackson and Dinwiddie out there.

Hope his game last night keeps Dinwiddie in the rotation. He can play Absolutely. His shooting is still a bit iffy, but the stage doesn't seem too big for him at all, and he's a legit PG at 6'5 or 6'6. He's looking like a great pick. The team looks like it will be at least fun to watch with Jackson and Dinwiddie out there. They've magically become really fun to watch. Drummond is a monster who is starting to learn some stuff on offense, Monroe is a technician, KCP is developing into a really good 3-and-D SG, Jackson looks like he has a chance to be a premium scorer and playmaker, and Dinwiddie does a hell of a lot of things right for a rookie. And then everyone else just basically takes, and makes, threes. Seems like SF is the main weakness at this point, which is crazy for a team than was 5-23 on Christmas. They put up that stat last night that the Pistons have the 3rd best record in the EC since then.

Despite the slow start, I liked what I saw out of Jackson. When was the last time someone puked from getting to play for Detroit. I mean puked in a good way.
He brings the slash/drive element that the team doesn't have much of. I know his 3pt % is a knock, but not everyone has to be able to shoot threes in the league. I liked how he can finish in traffic and he was certainly looking for others to dish to.
It'll be nice to have a super-motivated guy. We've sure seen enough of the other kind in the past.
I'm giving TayTay half a chance to not be a complete cancer, but I'll be quick to bury him if he's a problem. If Prince were useful and not overpaid, he wouldn't even be considered a buyout option.
